Omschrijving
ORANJERIE, opgenomen in de MOESTUINMUREN. De oranjerie die vermoedelijk dateert uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw is noordwestelijk en haaks ten opzichte van het hoofdgebouw geplaatst, met de achterzijde deels in de helling van een heuvelrug ingebouwd. Het in de moestuinmuur opgenomen, in baksteen (Vlaams verband) opgetrokken gebouw is rechthoekig van vorm met in de langsgevel aan de zuidzijde een erker met 5/8-sluiting en wordt gedekt door een platdak, met aan de achterzijde een dakschild.
De symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel bevat, inclusief de drie vensters in de in het midden geplaatste erker, zeven vensterassen. De vensters, met aluminium ramen, zijn licht getoogd onder gele baksteen, geplaatst tussen een aan drie zijden voorkomende natuurstenen plint en een geprofileerde kroonlijst waarop een over het midden uitspreidende soort attiek.
De linker zijgevel is blind uitgevoerd.
De achtergevel is vanwege de plaatsing in de helling van een heuvel en vanwege het dakschild beperkt in hoogte. Deze gevel bevat naast een kelderraam twee van diefijzers voorziene oorspronkelijke gekoppelde raampjes. De achterdeur is modern.
De rechter zijgevel bevat de moderne entree.
De moestuinmuur die grenst aan de eindgevels is in baksteen (Vlaams verband) opgetrokken en bezit aan de noordzijde muurdammen. In de voorzijde komen haken voor ten behoeve van de geleiding van (fruitdragende) planten/struiken. Aan de westzijde komt nog een muurdeel voor, geplaatst in noordzuid richting en de tuin van het bos afsluitend.
De inwendig verbouwde oranjerie is aan de voorzijde voorzien van aluminium kozijnen, de rechter zijgevel bevat de moderne entree. Genoemde onderdelen zijn daarmee van ondergeschikt belang.
Het interieur van de oranjerie is ten behoeve van de huidige bestemming als vergaderruimte gewijzigd.
Waardering
De ORANJERIE met MOESTUINMUREN als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal' is van algemeen belang:
- als goed voorbeeld van een in hoofdvorm bewaarde oranjerie;
- als functioneel onderdeel van de tuincultuur op de buitenplaats;
- als bijzondere uitdrukking van een ontwikkeling in de (bewonings)geschiedenis van de buitenplaats;
- vanwege de ensemblewaarde in relatie met de overige onderdelen van de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal'.

ORANGERY, incorporated in the KITCHEN GARDEN WALLS. The orangery, which presumably dates from the second half of the 19th century, is positioned northwest and at right angles to the main building, with the rear partly built into the slope of a ridge. The building, incorporated in the kitchen garden wall and constructed in brick (Flemish bond), is rectangular in form with a bay window with 5/8-closure in the long facade on the south side and is covered by a flat roof, with a roof shield on the rear.
The symmetrically arranged front facade contains, including the three windows in the bay window positioned in the middle, seven window bays. The windows, with aluminium frames, are lightly arched under yellow brick, placed between a natural stone plinth occurring on three sides and a moulded cornice on which a kind of attic spreads out over the middle.
The left gable wall is executed blind.
The rear facade is limited in height due to its position in the slope of a hill and due to the roof shield. This facade contains, besides a cellar window, two original coupled small windows fitted with anti-theft bars. The rear door is modern.
The right gable wall contains the modern entrance.
The kitchen garden wall, which borders the end gables, is constructed in brick (Flemish bond) and has wall buttresses on the north side. Hooks are present on the front side for the purposes of guiding (fruit-bearing) plants/shrubs. On the west side there is still a wall section present, positioned in north-south direction and closing off the garden from the woodland.
The internally remodelled orangery is provided with aluminium windows at the front, the right gable wall contains the modern entrance. These components are thereby of secondary importance.
The interior of the orangery has been modified for the purposes of its current function as a conference room.

The ORANGERY with KITCHEN GARDEN WALLS as part of the historic country estate 'Mariëndaal' is of general importance:
- as a good example of an orangery preserved in its principal form;
- as a functional component of the garden culture on the country estate;
