Omschrijving
De IJSKELDER, vermoedelijk daterend uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw ligt op zo'n twee honderd meter noordwaarts van het huis in het heuvelachtige terrein.
De ingang van de ijskelder bevindt zich deels in de helling van de heuvel. Twee haaks op de rondboogvormig afgesloten opening geplaatste muurdelen met vlechtingen flankeren de toegang. Deze vleugels lopen sterk tot even boven de grond naar beneden af. De opening wordt door een nieuw hek afgesloten.
Waardering
De IJSKELDER als onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal' is van algemeen belang:
- als goed voorbeeld van een ijskelder;
- als bijzondere uitdrukking van een ontwikkeling in de (bewonings)geschiedenis van de buitenplaats;
- vanwege zijn bestemming welke is verbonden met de ontwikkeling van de koeltechniek;
- vanwege de ensemblewaarde in relatie met de overige onderdelen van de historische buitenplaats 'Mariëndaal'.

Description
The ICE HOUSE, presumably dating from the second half of the 19th century, lies approximately two hundred metres to the north of the house in the hilly terrain.
The entrance to the ice house is partly located in the slope of the hill. Two wall sections placed at right angles to the round-arched opening and provided with wattling flank the access. These wings slope steeply to just above the ground. The opening is closed by a new gate.
Valuation
The ICE HOUSE as part of the historic country estate 'Mariëndaal' is of general importance:
- as a good example of an ice house;
- as a special expression of a development in the (residential) history of the country estate;
- because of its purpose which is connected with the development of cooling technology;
