Omschrijving onderdeel 3: ZUIDELIJK BIJGEBOUW.
Bakstenen witgepleisterd gebouw op rechthoekige grondslag van een enkele bouwlaag onder met grijze, linksdekkende oudhollandse pannen gedekt schilddak. De gevels worden afgesloten door een kroonlijst waarin goot. Het bijgebouw is in de bouwcampagne van het huis gezamenlijk met het noordelijke bijgebouw in 1790 opgetrokken. Oorspronkelijk bevatte het bijgebouw een biljartkamer, een woonkamer, een waskamer en een turfhok. In 1898 diende het bijgebouw als woning van de bosbaas. In de jaren '80 van de 20ste eeuw is het bouwhuis gerestaureerd en dient het als woning.
Het zuidelijke bijgebouw is samen met het noordelijke bijgebouw symmetrisch haaks ten opzichte van het hoofdgebouw geplaatst en maakt als zodanig deel uit van een in origine Frans-classicistisch concept van een ensemble van hoofd- en bijgebouwen, dat loodrecht op de hoofdas van een historische parkaanleg is gesitueerd.
Voor(oprit-)gevel: centraal drie achtruits Empire-vensters met links een dubbele halfronde poortdeur en rechts de rechte entreedeur naar de woning. Linker- en rechterzijgevel: een enkel zesruits Empire-venster.
Aan de achtergevel werden bij de restauratie in de laatste kwart van de 18de eeuw historiserende Empire-terrasdeuren geplaatst, die evenals de toen geplaatste dakkapellen voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang zijn. De vensters zijn voorzien van persiennes.
Waardering
Het ZUIDELIJK BIJGEBOUW van de historische buitenplaats Burgst is van algemeen belang vanwege:
- de ensemblewaarde die het bijgebouw samen met het hoofdhuis en noordelijk bijgebouw vertegenwoordigt;

Description
Description of component 3: SOUTHERN OUTBUILDING.
Whitewashed brick building on rectangular foundation of a single storey under a hipped roof covered with grey, left-laid old Dutch tiles. The gables are finished with a cornice containing a gutter. The outbuilding was erected together with the northern outbuilding in the building campaign of the house in 1790. Originally the outbuilding contained a billiards room, a living room, a wash room and a peat shed. In 1898 the outbuilding served as the residence of the forest keeper. In the 1980s the outbuilding was restored and serves as a residence.
The southern outbuilding is placed symmetrically at right angles to the main building together with the northern outbuilding and as such forms part of an originally French-Classicist concept of an ensemble of main and outbuildings, situated perpendicular to the main axis of a historical park layout.
Front (drive) gable: centrally three eight-light Empire windows with on the left a double semi-circular arched door and on the right the straight entrance door to the residence. Left and right side gables: a single six-light Empire window.
On the rear gable, historicizing Empire terrace doors were placed during the restoration in the last quarter of the 18th century, which together with the roof dormers then installed are of subordinate importance for the protection. The windows are fitted with shutters.

The SOUTHERN OUTBUILDING of the historic country estate Burgst is of general importance because of:
