ZONNEWIJZER behorende tot de buitenplaats Nijenhuis.
In de parkaanleg achter het huis bevindt zich in de rozenborder een 17de- of 18de-eeuwse zonnewijzer van koper of brons op een eenvoudige hardstenen sokkel. De zonnewijzer werd in het laatste kwart van de 20ste eeuw opgediept uit de gracht. Op een achthoekige plaat staat in een hoek van ongeveer 45 graden een wijzer, de ruimte tussen wijzer en plaat is van sierlijk opengewerkt metaal. De sokkel op vierkante grondslag heeft gepaneelde zijden die aan de bovenzijde versierd zijn met barokke C-voluten. De ruim overkragende afdekplaat bestaat uit twee dunnere vierkante platen op elkaar. De sokkel is oorspronkelijk vermoedelijk hoger geweest, de oorspronkelijke functie is niet bekend. De sokkel dateert uit de 19de of vroege 20ste eeuw. De afdekplaat is speciaal voor de zonnewijzer gemaakt en dateert uit het laatste kwart van de 20ste eeuw.

Description
SUNDIAL belonging to the country estate Nijenhuis.
In the park layout behind the house there is a 17th or 18th-century sundial of copper or bronze on a simple sandstone plinth in the rose border. The sundial was excavated from the canal in the last quarter of the 20th century. On an octagonal plate stands at an angle of approximately 45 degrees a pointer, the space between pointer and plate is filled with elegantly openwork metal. The plinth on square plan has panelled sides which at the top are decorated with Baroque C-volutes. The generously overhanging coping plate consists of two thinner square plates stacked on top of each other. The plinth was originally probably taller, its original function is not known. The plinth dates from the 19th or early 20th century. The coping plate was specially made for the sundial and dates from the last quarter of the 20th century.
