Inleiding
Twee stuwen behorende tot de buitenplaats Nijenhuis.
Ten zuidwesten van het huis een grotere en een kleinere stuw.
Omschrijving
De in oorsprong uit het laatste kwart van de 18de eeuw daterende grotere STUW regelt onder meer de watertoevoer naar de slotgracht. Deze stuw ligt onder de brug die de oprijlaan over de Molenbeek voert en bestaat uit twee houten deuren/kleppen tussen houten staanders. Door middel van een horizontale draaibare as die de staanders boven het maaiveld verbindt en die middels kettingen verbonden is met de stuwkleppen, kunnen deze in hoogte versteld worden. Gemetselde rood bakstenen keermuren vormen de overgang naar de beide oevers.
Waardering
De grotere STUW van twee tot de buitenplaats Nijenhuis behorende stuwen is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de doelmatige vormgeving;
- als functioneel onderdeel voor de waterhuishouding van de buitenplaats;
- vanwege de visuele samenhang met de andere onderdelen van de buitenplaats.

Description
The larger WEIR, originating from the last quarter of the 18th century, regulates, among other things, the water supply to the moat. This weir lies beneath the bridge which carries the drive over the Molenbeek and consists of two wooden doors/flaps between wooden posts. By means of a horizontal rotating shaft that connects the posts above ground level and which is linked to the weir flaps by chains, these can be adjusted in height. Mortared red brick retaining walls form the transition to both banks.
