HOOFDGEBOUW 2 (Peckedam).
Aan het begin van de oprijlaan naar het Nijenhuis lag vroeger de havezate Peckedam. Omstreeks 1826 werd het huis Peckedam afgebroken en werd de toegangslaan van het Nijenhuis over de huisplaats van Peckedam doorgetrokken tot Diepenheim. Enkele sloten herinneren nog aan de voormalige havezate en ook de huisplaats is nog duidelijk te herkennen. In 1898 werd ten noorden van het oude huis Peckedam het tegenwoordige Peckedam gebouwd voor Henriëtte Frances Wilhelmina Elisabeth Schimmelpenninck. Het huis heeft lange tijd tot woonplaats van tuinarchitect Hugo Poortman gediend. Het in 1898 naar een ontwerp van Van der Goot en Kruisweg gebouwde Peckedam is een gaaf bewaarde, rood bakstenen villa in chalet-stijl, met op de verdieping (de achterzijde uitgezonderd) verschillende uitspringende gevels in vakwerk met wit gepleisterde vulling. Het uit verschillende bouwvolumes bestaande, onderkelderde huis telt twee bouwlagen en een kapverdieping onder een samengesteld schilddak, gedekt met tuile du nord-pannen. De hoofdingang aan de voorzijde is toegankelijk via een portiek met een gedrukte spitsboogvormige omlijsting. In het linkerdeel een dubbele garage-deur met bovenlicht. Aan de achterzijde onder meer een verhoogd terras met balustrade, vanaf de oprit toegankelijk via een trapje en van binnenuit bereikbaar via een hoge dubbele deur in de achtergevel en een lagere deur in de uitbouw. Verschillende soorten vensters, vrijwel allemaal met persiennes. In de bakstenen gevels zijn de meeste vensters voorzien van een forse hardstenen boven- en onderdorpel. Het overhoekse traplicht heeft bloemmotieven in glas en lood. Op het dak enkele kapellen, een windwijzer en makelaars.

Het HOOFDGEBOUW (Peckedam) is van algemeen belang:

MAIN BUILDING 2 (Peckedam).
At the beginning of the drive to the Nijenhuis stood formerly the havezate Peckedam. Around 1826 the house Peckedam was demolished and the access lane to the Nijenhuis was extended over the homestead of Peckedam to Diepenheim. A few ditches still recall the former havezate and the homestead is still clearly recognizable. In 1898 the present Peckedam was built north of the old house Peckedam for Henriëtte Frances Wilhelmina Elisabeth Schimmelpenninck. The house served for a long time as the residence of landscape architect Hugo Poortman. The Peckedam, built in 1898 to a design by Van der Goot and Kruisweg, is a well-preserved red brick villa in chalet style, with on the upper storey (the rear side excepted) various projecting gables in timber framing with white-rendered infill. The house, consisting of various building volumes and with a cellar, has two storeys and an attic storey under a composite hipped roof, covered with tuile du nord tiles. The main entrance at the front is accessible via a porch with a depressed pointed-arch surround. On the left side a double garage door with fanlight. On the rear side among other features a raised terrace with balustrade, accessible from the drive via a small flight of steps and from within via a tall double door in the rear gable and a lower door in the extension. Various types of windows, virtually all with shutters. In the brick gables most windows are furnished with stout ashlar lintels and sills. The corner stairlight contains floral motifs in leaded glass. On the roof several roof lights, a weathervane and gutter ornaments.

The MAIN BUILDING (Peckedam) is of general importance:
