Omschrijving
De TOEGANGSPOORT tot de Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats naar ontwerp van A.W. Weissman uit 1892 bestaat uit vier rechthoekige pijlers, opgetrokken in rode verblendsteen op hoge hardstenen plint en voorzien van ezelsrugafdekking en reliëfs met florale motieven. De poort wordt afgesloten met sierlijk gesmede hekken, waarvan de middelste als hoger, dubbelhek is uitgevoerd en de twee zijhekken enkelvoudig en lager zijn. Dwars aansluitend op de buitenpijlers een gebogen borstwering gemetseld in dezelfde rode verblendsteen, afgedekt met hardstenen platen. Een brug overkluist het water langs de Kruislaan.

Description
The GATEWAY to the Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats after a design by A.W. Weissman from 1892 consists of four rectangular piers, built in red facing brick on a high stone plinth and provided with saddle-back coping and reliefs with floral motifs. The gateway is closed with ornamental wrought-iron gates, of which the middle one is executed as a higher, double gate and the two side gates are single and lower. Perpendicular connection to the outer piers a curved parapet built in the same red facing brick, capped with stone plates. A bridge spans the water along the Kruislaan.

Gateway from 1892 of the Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats of general importance because of its cultural-historical and typological value and as a historical-functional component of the Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats complex.
