Omschrijving
TOREN met AANBOUW. De toren is het restant van het oude huis Frymerson. De ronde, relatief kleine bakstenen toren (twee bouwlagen) dateert in oorsprong uit de middeleeuwen en is het oudste gebouwde element op de buitenplaats. De gedeeltelijk gecementeerde bakstenen kantelen rond het platte dak zijn 19de eeuws, waarschijnlijk aangebracht ten tijde van de 'restauratie' door P.J. H. Cuypers in de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw. In de 19de eeuw is er een klein gebouw op L-vormige plattegrond met de eindgevel tegen de toren aangebouwd. Het zadeldak van dit gebouw wordt boven de andere eindgevel schildvormig beëindigd. Aan de noordzijde is het dak gedekt met rode pannen, de dakvlakken, die naar het landhuis gekeerd zijn, zijn voorzien van grijze pannen. Het gebouw heeft als dienstwoning en koetshuis gefunctioneerd. TOWER with ANNEX. The tower is the remnant of the old house Frymerson. The round, relatively small brick tower (two storeys) dates originally from the Middle Ages and is the oldest built element on the estate. The partly cemented brick crenellations around the flat roof are 19th century, probably erected at the time of the 'restoration' by P.J. H. Cuypers in the second half of the 19th century. In the 19th century a small building on an L-shaped plan was added with its gable wall against the tower. The gabled roof of this building is finished shield-shaped above the other gable wall. On the north side the roof is covered with red tiles, the roof surfaces facing the country house are provided with grey tiles. The building functioned as a service dwelling and coachhouse. The architectural unity of tower and annex is surrounded by a circular moat, the origin of which probably dates back to the construction of the first fortified house in the Middle Ages. Via a broad dam there is a connection with the path around the forecourt, which lies between tower and country house. Tower and annex are incorporated as a decorative element in the landscaped park layout.
