HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG. De 19de-eeuwse aanleg in 'Zwitserse' landschapsstijl is vermoedelijk van de hand van tuinarchitect J.D. Zocher jr. Gebruikmakend van het natuurlijke reliëf van het terrein is voor het huis een omlaag lopende glooiende weide gecreëerd (uit het bos gespaard) omsloten door coulissewanden van het omringende bos met vergezichten onder andere naar de Amerongse berg en als 'point de vue' de boerderij De Laagt. De weide is als 'alm' aangelegd en ingericht met clumbs van (rode) beuk. Doordat de boomgroepen en het omringende bos thans enigszins zijn uitgegroeid, zijn de zichtlijnen op De Laagt en in zuidoostwaartse richting niet meer duidelijk aanwezig. Oorspronkelijk liepen twee gebogen paden door de weide naar beneden, waarvan er één resteert. Op oude Topografische Militaire Kaarten is rondom de weide een lobvormig padenpatroon door het bos te zien, dat thans niet meer aanwezig is.
Waardering
De HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de aanleg in landschapsstijl met weide en verschillende zichten, mogelijk naar ontwerp van J.D. Zocher jr.;
- vanwege de weide die als alm is aangelegd en als zodanig is de aanleg een belangrijk voorbeeld van een in 'Zwitserse' stijl aangelegd buitenplaatspark uit de eerste helft van de 19de eeuw;

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT. The 19th-century layout in 'Swiss' landscape style is presumed to be by landscape architect J.D. Zocher jr. Making use of the natural relief of the terrain, a gently sloping meadow running downward has been created in front of the house (cleared from the surrounding woodland) enclosed by backdrop woodlands of the surrounding forest with vistas including towards Amerongse Berg and as a 'point de vue' the farmhouse De Laagt. The meadow has been laid out and arranged as an 'alm' with clumps of (red) beech. Because the tree groups and surrounding woodland have since grown somewhat beyond their original bounds, the sight lines to De Laagt and in the south-easterly direction are no longer clearly present. Originally two curved paths ran through the meadow downward, of which one remains. On old Topographical Military Maps a lobed path pattern through the woodland surrounding the meadow is visible, which is now no longer present.
