Omschrijving
Rooms-katholieke kerk van de H. Gregorius vanwege het tweeklaviers orgel met aangehangen pedaal en 20 registers, gemaakt door de firma L. Ypma in 1875. De fraai gesneden orgelkas voorzien van een "schijn"-rugwerkfront werd gemaakt door de firma J. Goossens & Zn. te 's-Hertogenbosch.
Waardering
Het orgel is een uitzonderlijk voorbeeld van een nagenoeg gaaf bewaard gebleven instrument van de orgelmakers Ypma. Zowel de orgelkas, gemaakt door de Bossche houtsnijders en kastenmakers Goossens & Zoon, als het instrument ademen geheel de tradionele ambachtelijke en artistieke kwaliteit van de vroege 19e eeuw. Uniek is het "schijn"front voor een rugwerk dat nooit geplaatst is en, gelet op de periode van ontstaan, als uitzonderlijk en archaïserend gekenschetst kan worden. Description
Roman Catholic Church of St. Gregorius on account of the two-manual organ with attached pedal and 20 registers, made by the firm L. Ypma in 1875. The finely carved organ case provided with a "sham"-rückpositiv front was made by the firm J. Goossens & Zn. of 's-Hertogenbosch.
Valuation
The organ is an exceptional example of an instrument by organ makers Ypma that has remained virtually intact. Both the organ case, made by the 's-Hertogenbosch wood carvers and case makers Goossens & Son, and the instrument embody entirely the traditional craft and artistic quality of the early 19th century. Unique is the "sham" front for a rückpositiv that was never installed and, given the period of origin, can be characterised as exceptional and archaising. The instrument remains in its original surroundings and has remained virtually unaltered.
