Inleiding
Als rentenierswoning gebouwd WOONHUIS genaamd "Troostwijk", gebouwd rond 1875 en gesitueerd aan de zuidzijde van het Westeinde met de noklijn evenwijdig aan de straat. Het woonhuis ligt op geruime afstand van de openbare weg. Op de scheiding van het erf en de openbare weg staan vier gedecoreerde hekpijlers van een betonachtige samenstelling.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekig grondplan gebouwde woonhuis, bestaande uit begane grond en kapverdieping onder schilddak met zwarte muldenpan. Op de beide nokpunten staan schoorstenen. Het muurwerk is opgetrokken in rode baksteen boven een met cement aangestreken plint en is gedecoreerd met gepleisterde architraven en sluitstenen. Het muurwerk van de voorgevel en de beide zijgevels wordt afgesloten met een hoofdgestel.
De symmetrisch opgezette voorgevel (N) telt vijf vensterassen. Vier lisenen - waarvan twee hoeklisenen - verdelen de voorgevel in drie traveeën, een centrale travee ter breedte van één vensteras en flankerende traveen ter breedte van twee vensterassen. In de middelste as bevindt zich een dubbele, teruggeplaatste voordeur met ijzeren harnassen. Boven het hoofdgestel wordt de middenpartij geaccentuuerd door een forse dakkapel met hoeklisenen en fronton. De dakkapel heeft een teruggeplaatste dubbele paneeldeur met glaspanelen. A dwelling house built on a rectangular ground plan, consisting of ground floor and roof storey beneath a hipped roof with black pantiles. Square chimneys stand at both roof peaks. The masonry is built in red brick above a plinth finished with cement and is decorated with plastered architraves and keystones. The masonry of the front facade and both side facades is closed off with a main cornice.
The symmetrically arranged front facade (N) has five window bays. Four pilasters - of which two are corner pilasters - divide the front facade into three bays, a central bay spanning one window and flanking bays each spanning two windows. In the middle bay is a double, recessed front door with iron harnesses. Above the main cornice, the central section is emphasized by a substantial roof dormer with corner pilasters and pediment.
