Inleiding.
KAPEL behorende tot het complex van de ZWAKZINNINGENINRICHTING Huize Assisië. Het gebouw is opgetrokken in 1903 in Neogotische stijl.
Omschrijving.
Eenbeukige kapel met lagere absis, opgetrokken uit roodbruine machinale baksteen met gele speklagen en spaarzaam gebruik van hardsteen, onder zadeldak met leien in rensdekking. De topgevels zijn afgewolfd en voorzien van een piron. De kapel telt vier traveeën en een lagere, vijfzijdige absis, geflankeerd door plat afgedekte, eenlaags nevenruimten met zesruits spitsboogramen. Ze wordt voorafgegaan door een entreegebouw met een geleding van lisenen en tandlijsten en hooggeplaatste gekoppelde spitsboogramen. Elke travee heeft haakse, tweemaal versneden steunberen en een spitsboograam met vorktracering. De ramen in de absis zijn enkelvoudige spitsboogramen. Op de daken dakkapellen met overhoekse spitsjes en pirons. Zeszijdige dakruiter met spits, kruis en bol. In het portaal trappenhuis en een kruisribgewelf. Het inwendige is voorzien van gestuukte kruisribgewelven op kraagstenen met bladmotieven. Het koor heeft een kruisribgewelf in stuc.

Single-aisle chapel with lower apse, built of reddish-brown machine-made brickwork with yellow brick headers and sparing use of hard stone, under a gabled roof with slates in Maas-style coverage. The gable walls are curved and provided with a ridge cresting. The chapel has four bays and a lower, five-sided apse, flanked by flat-roofed, single-storey adjoining rooms with six-light pointed arch windows. It is preceded by an entrance building with an articulation of pilasters and dentil mouldings and high-placed coupled pointed arch windows. Each bay has right-angled, twice-stepped buttresses and a pointed arch window with forked tracery. The windows in the apse are simple pointed arch windows. On the roofs dormer windows with bevelled spirelets and ridge crests. Six-sided roof turret with spire, cross and ball. In the portal stairwell and a cross-ribbed vault. The interior is furnished with stuccoed cross-ribbed vaults on corbels with leaf motifs. The choir has a cross-ribbed vault in stucco.

The chapel is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an expression of the development of Catholic care for the mentally disabled and less privileged in the period of the Catholic revival.
