Het bij de historische buitenplaats Clingendael behorende houten LOGEERHUIS voor gasten van Clingendael staat reeds aangegeven op een kadastrale kaart uit 1895. Het in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele stijl gebouwde huis was destijds gesitueerd ten zuidoosten van het hoofdgebouw. In de Tweede Wereldoorlog is het als 'De Hut' bekende gebouw verplaatst naar de huidige locatie. Aan het eind van de jaren '90 van de 20ste eeuw is het pand gemoderniseerd en uitgebreid. 'De Hut' functioneert tegenwoordig als woonhuis en theeschenkerij.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaand éénlaags houten bouwvolume op rechthoekige plattegrond staat onder een fors, uitkragend rieten schilddak (tot WOII een zadeldak van rondhout). Op de oostelijke nokhoek staat een gemetselde schoorsteen. In het dakschild boven de veranda bevindt zich een daklicht onder een opgelicht deel van het dakschild. De zuidelijke langsgevel bevat vier rechtgesloten, met luiken behangen vensters. Tegen de symmetrische, westelijke kopgevel bevindt zich een veranda onder een deel van de kap, die hier rust op zes houten palen. De veranda wordt omsloten door een houten borstwering in de vorm van een opgewerkt hek. De verandagevel bevat een deur en een met luiken behangen venster aan weerszijden. The wooden GUEST LODGE belonging to the historic country estate Clingendael is already indicated on a cadastral map from 1895. The house, built in a Craft-traditional style, was at that time situated to the southeast of the main building. Description
A detached single-storey wooden building volume on a rectangular plan stands under a substantial, projecting thatched hipped roof (until WWII a gabled roof of round timber). A brick chimney stands on the eastern roof ridge corner. In the roof slope above the veranda is a roof light beneath an illuminated section of the roof slope. The southern long façade contains four rectangular, shuttered windows. Against the symmetrical, western gable end façade stands a veranda under a section of the roof structure, which here rests on six wooden posts. The veranda is enclosed by a wooden balustrade in the form of an ornamental fence. The veranda façade contains a door and a shuttered window on either side. In the northern long façade stands a series of four shuttered windows. The left of the four is a broad, composite window.
