Omschrijving
Inleiding.
Bij de buitenplaats behorende BRUG met TOEGANGSHEK (4) is in 1914-1916 gebouwd naar ontwerp van de architect L.J. Zaaijer in opdracht van D.T. Ruys, in een op het Hollands-Classicisme geïnspireerde Nieuw Historiserende stijl die aansluit bij de overige complexonderdelen. De brug met toegangshek staat langs de Paauwlaan op de zuidhoek van het terrein bij het begin van de oprijlaan.
Omschrijving.
De uit donkerrode baksteen opgetrokken welfbrug heeft een licht gebogen brugdek. Natuursteen is decoratief toegepast voor onder meer de dekplaten en de hoekstukken. Aan weerszijden van de brug bestaat de gemetselde borstwering uit een balustrade met ajourwerk waarop natuurstenen dekplaten liggen, die aan de zuidwestzijde doorlopen naar de landhoofden. Aan de noordoostzijde sluit de borstwering aan op de hekpijlers van het toegangshek. De door inzwenkende vleugelstukken geflankeerde hekpijlers hebben geprofileerde gemetselde hoeken en uitgemetselde kopse bakstenen. De hekpijlers worden afgedekt met zandstenen dekplaten, waarop als bekroning decoratieve uitgevoerde lantaarns staan. Tussen de hekpijlers bevinden zich rijk uitgevoerde giet/smeedijzeren hekwerken. Tegen de linker pijler zijn twee decoratief uitgevoerde ijzeren platen geplaatst ten behoeve van een trekbel. Tegen de rechter pijler bevindt zich onder meer een ijzeren huisnummerplaat.
Waardering.
De uit 1914-1916 daterende welfbrug met toegangshek is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als ruimtelijk en historisch-functioneel onderdeel van de buitenplaats.

Introduction.
The BRIDGE with ENTRANCE GATE (4) belonging to the country estate was built in 1914-1916 to the design of architect L.J. Zaaijer on the commission of D.T. Ruys, in a New Historicising style inspired by Dutch Classicism which harmonises with the other complex components. The bridge with entrance gate stands along the Paauwlaan at the southern corner of the grounds at the beginning of the drive.
Description.
The vault bridge constructed of dark red brick has a slightly curved bridge deck. Natural stone is applied decoratively for, among other things, the cover slabs and corner pieces. On either side of the bridge, the mortared breastwork consists of a balustrade with openwork upon which natural stone cover slabs lie, which on the south-west side extend to the abutments. On the north-east side the breastwork joins the gate piers of the entrance gate. The gate piers flanked by recessed wing pieces have profiled mortared corners and mortared header bricks. The gate piers are topped with sandstone cover slabs, upon which decorative executed lamps stand as a crown. Between the gate piers are richly executed cast/wrought-iron fences. Against the left pier two decoratively executed iron plates are placed for a door pull. Against the right pier is, among other things, an iron house-number plate.
