Inleiding
WOONHUIS, gebouwd in 1906 in opdracht van bierbrouwer Huengens, in een Eclectische stijl. Het pand ligt aan de Stratumsedijk, in het centrum van Eindhoven. Aan de Stratumsedijk en omgeving is nog een aantal panden uit het einde van de negentiende- en begin van de twintigste eeuw bewaard gebleven.
Omschrijving
Tweelaags pand op een rechthoekige plattegrond. Het huis heeft een mansardedak, gedekt met geschubde leien. De rechtergevel van het pand staat vrij, met de linkergevel is het pand tegen een reeds bestaand huis gebouwd. De voorgevel is vijf traveeën breed en geblokt gepleisterd uitgevoerd. Deze gevel is voorzien van een natuurstenen basement. Tussen de ramen van de begane grond en verdieping zijn velden met geprofileerde lijsten in het pleiterwerk aangebracht, boven de ramen zijn in het pleisterwerk blokken aangegeven. Direct onder de dakrand bevindt zich een geprofileerde gootlijst op klossen, tussen deze klossen is een bloktandlijst zichtbaar. De ingang ligt in een portiek met een hardstenen trapje in de middelste travee en bestaat uit een houten paneeldeur. Erboven is een balkon op grote, met bladmotieven bewerkte, consoles geplaatst. Het heeft een gepleisterde balustrade met natuurstenen afdektand. Deze ingangstravee wordt bekroond door een dakkapel met overstekend tympaan. Dit tympaan is op pilaren geplaatst, die op hun beurt weer op consoles rusten. Op de begane grond zijn (vernieuwde) ramen met een bovenlicht geplaatst, op de verdieping zijn T-ramen aanwezig. Het pand is gedeeltelijk onderkelderd. Elementen uit de bouwtijd zijn onder andere zichtbaar in de gang. Daar zijn tegen de wanden gepleisterde pilasters met cannelures geplaatst. De pilasters worden bekroond door middel van kapitelen met guirlandes en steunen op consoles, versierd met loofwerk. Halverwege de gang bevindt zich een trappartij. Verder zijn enkele stucplafonds in originele staat gebleven.

Pand van cultuurhistorisch belang en in samenhang met de overige bebouwing aan de Stratumsedijk als uitdrukking van de economische ontwikkeling van Eindhoven rond de eeuwwisseling.

Description
Two-storey building on a rectangular plan. The house has a mansard roof, covered with scaled slate. The right gable of the building stands free, with the left gable the building is constructed against an already existing house. The front facade is five bays wide and executed in rusticated plasterwork. This facade is provided with a natural stone basement. Between the windows of the ground floor and upper storey fields with moulded cornices are incorporated in the plasterwork, above the windows blocks are indicated in the plasterwork. Elements from the time of construction are visible inter alia in the corridor. There pilasters with fluting are placed against the walls. The pilasters are crowned by means of capitals with garlands and rest on consoles, decorated with foliated ornament. Halfway along the corridor is a staircase. Furthermore a number of stucco ceilings have remained in their original state.
