Inleiding
DIENSTWONING; omstreeks 1880 opgetrokken in een streek-eigen bouwtrant. De woning hoorde bij het huis van burgemeester Sigmond (onderdeel I) en is gelegen aan de achterzijde van de andere dienstwoning nr. 14 (onderdeel II).
Omschrijving
Pand op rechthoekige grondslag van één bouwlaag met gebosseerd gepleisterde gevels onder een, in 1995 vernieuwd en met pannen gedekt zadeldak. De vensters zijn recht gesloten en hebben zesruits en negenruits schuiframen. In de noordwestelijke hoek bevindt zich een klein gedenkplaatje met het waterpeil van een overstroming op 1 april 1881. Het rechter gedeelte van het pand heeft een laag souterrain met nissen voor fornuizen. Intern is het pand voorzien van een eenvoudig balkplafond. In de gevels zijn ijzeren steekankers aangebracht.
Waardering
De dienstwoning is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en typologische ontwikkeling, namelijk de bouw van een woning met bijbehorende dienstwoningen. Er is sprake van ensemblewaarden vanwege de architectonische, functionele en typologische samenhang van de verschillende complexonderdelen. Het is van belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische en typologische zeldzaamheid.

SERVANT'S DWELLING; built around 1880 in a locally characteristic building style. The dwelling belonged to the house of mayor Sigmond (component I) and is located at the rear of the other servant's dwelling no. 14 (component II).
Description
Building on a rectangular plan of one storey with rusticated plastered facades under a gabled roof, renewed in 1995 and covered with tiles. The windows are straight-topped and have six-light and nine-light sash windows. In the north-western corner there is a small commemorative plaque with the water level of a flood on 1 April 1881. The right section of the building has a low basement with niches for stoves. Internally the building is provided with a simple beam ceiling. Iron wall anchors have been installed in the facades.
Valuation
The servant's dwelling is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical significance as a particular expression of a socio-economic and typological development, namely the construction of a house with associated servant's dwellings. There are ensemble values due to the architectural, functional and typological coherence of the various complex components. It is of importance because of its architectural-historical and typological rarity.
