KETELHUIS op enige afstand, naast het hoofdgebouw gelegen, gebouw in ca. 1918 in Neo-Renaissancestijl, vermoedelijk naar ontwerp van het bureau Rijksbouwmeesters.
Omschrijving
Het pand bestaat uit een aantal bakstenen bouwblokken op rechthoekige plattegrond die in elkaars verlengde zijn geplaatst. Het eigenlijke ketelhuis is iets hoger opgetrokken en heeft een zadeldak, gedekt met leien. De zijgevels worden geleed door lisenen waartussen hoge ramen en deuren onder segmentbogen zijn geplaatst. De overige bouwblokken hebben een plat dak met klein overstek op klossen. Hierin zijn vierruitsramen aangebracht met bovenlichten met kleine roedenverdeling. Elk blok voorzien van een deur, in de kopse gevel voorzien van een bovenlicht in segmentboogvorm.

Het ketelhuis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van een sociale en bestuurlijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de stichting van inrichtingen voor de zwakzinnigenzorg van rijkswegen in of nabij de grote steden en als voorbeeld van een typologische ontwikkeling van de gebouwen voor de zwakzinnigenzorg. The building consists of a number of brick building blocks on a rectangular floor plan which are placed in line with each other.
