Inleiding
Het BEELD van een Engelbewaarder dateert uit ca. 1890 en staat op het in 1837 aangelegde kerkhof, op het gedeelte waar zich de kindergraven bevinden. Het beeld is geplaatst op een naoorlogse bakstenen sokkel. De aanduiding wie er wanneer werd begraven is verdwenen. Een identiek beeld, maar in slechtere staat, bevindt zich op de begraafplaats aan de Molenstraat 72 te Helmond.
Omschrijving
Op een vierkante sokkel van gele handvorm baksteen staat een groot beeld van terracotta, op een achthoekige voetplaat. Het stelt een engelbewaarder voor die een klein kind begeleidt en met n hand naar de hemel wijst.
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuur-historisch belang als voorbeeld van een geestelijke ontwikkeling. Architectuur-historisch is het van belang vanwege de stijl en de gaafheid en vanwege het bijzondere materiaalgebruik. The IMAGE of a Guardian Angel dates from approximately 1890 and stands on the churchyard laid out in 1837, on the section where children's graves are situated.
