Inleiding
Ten noordwesten van de R.K. pastorie van de parochie van H. Antonius-Abt staat, gericht op het kruispunt van Kerkstraat en Goirleseweg, een ongesigneerd H. HART-BEELD, daterend uit omstreeks 1920.
Omschrijving
Het beeld staat op een uit drie traptreden bestaande polygonale onderbouw, waarop een hardstenen vierkante sokkel is geplaatst, geflankeerd door kleinere bloembakken van dito materiaal. Op de bakken de letters alfa (links) en omega (rechts), terwijl centraal het IHS-monogram staat afgebeeld. Op de uit hardstenen platen bestaande, verjongende opbouw is aan de voorzijde een hardstenen plaquette aangebracht met de tekst: "Komt / allen / tot mij". Het beeld is geschilderd, waarschijnlijk vervaardigd uit kunststeen en voorzien van een gietijzeren stralenkrans.

Het beeld is van algemeen belang vanwege de volgende waarden: cultuurhistorische waarden: het is van belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van het katholicisme in Midden-Brabant, met name de bevordering van de H. Northwest of the R.C. presbytery of the parish of H. Antonius-Abt, facing the intersection of Kerkstraat and Goirleseweg, stands an unsigned H. SACRED HEART IMAGE, dating from around 1920.
Description
The image stands on a polygonal base consisting of three step treads, upon which a blue-stone square pedestal is placed, flanked by smaller flowerbeds of the same material. On the boxes the letters alpha (left) and omega (right), while centrally the IHS monogram is depicted. On the base of blue-stone slabs, tapering upwards, a blue-stone plaquette is affixed to the front with the text: "Come / all / unto me". The image is painted, probably made of artificial stone and provided with a cast-iron halo.
Valuation
The image is of general interest because of the following values: cultural-historical values: it is of significance as a distinctive expression of the development of Catholicism in Central Brabant, in particular the promotion of Sacred Heart devotion in the Interwar period; architectural-historical values: it has particular significance for the history of ecclesiastical sculpture; ensemble values: the complex is of special importance for the appearance of the ribbon development typical of nineteenth-century church-village development in North Brabant.
