Omschrijving
URINOIR gelegen in het noordelijke deel van het bovenkamp en met de voorzijde aan de Hessenweg een der belangrijkste hoofdassen. Het openbare toiletgebouwtje bezit een plattegrond van een ongelijkzijdige zeshoek. Op de manshoge, in baksteen opgetrokken en door een rollaag afgesloten gevels, rusten houten stijlen die het overstekende platte dak dragen. De achtergevel die langer is dan de voorgevel is in halfsteensverband uitgevoerd. De muren van de eindgevels en de overhoeks geplaatste muren die middels een stompe hoek met uitstekende tandversiering de hoek met de achtergevel invullen, zijn opgetrokken in kruisverband. De voorgevel bezit een naar het gebouw gekeerde u-vorm die niet op de eindgevels aansluit en aldus aan beide zijden de toegang tot het openbare gebouwtje vrijlaat. Aan de straatzijde is de gevel boven doorbroken en met horizontaal lattenwerk ingevuld. De houten dakligger aan de voorzijde van het gebouw bezit in de twee buitenhoeken van de dragende stijl een uitkragende console. In de achtergevel versterkt een muurdam in het midden de gevel. Het INTERIEUR is nagenoeg ongewijzigd. De vloer bestaat uit een portlandcementenvloer. Onder het, aan de straatzijde voorkomende lattenwerk, bevinden zich langs de gehele voorgevel drie naast elkaar geplaatste urinoir-ruimten die van elkaar worden gescheiden door twee haaks op de muur gestelde schaamschotten. De muurdammen zijn gecementeerd en zwart geteerd. Tegen de voetmuur ligt een goot ter afvoer.

- Van architectuurhistorisch belang als goed bewaard voorbeeld van een voor een openbaar toiletgebouw opmerkelijk vormgegeven object, dat is gerealiseerd in het kader van de hygiëne op een kazerneterrein.

Description
URINAL located in the northern part of the upper camp with its front elevation on the Hessenweg, one of the most important main axes. The public toilet building has a floor plan of an unequal-sided hexagon. On the man-height brick walls, closed off by a roll course, rest wooden posts which support the overhanging flat roof. The rear gavel, which is longer than the front gavel, is executed in half-brick bond. The walls of the end gables and the corner-placed walls, which by means of a blunt angle with protruding tooth decoration fill the corner with the rear gavel, are built in cross bond. The front gavel possesses a u-shape facing the building which does not connect to the end gables and thus leaves access to the public building free on both sides. At the street side the gavel is broken through above and filled in with horizontal lathwork. The wooden roof beam at the front of the building has, in the two outer corners of the supporting post, a projecting console. In the rear gavel a wall dam strengthens the gavel in the middle. The INTERIOR is virtually unchanged. The floor consists of a Portland cement floor. Below the lathwork occurring on the street side, along the entire front gavel are three urinal spaces placed side by side, separated from each other by two perpendicular wall baffles. The wall dams are cemented and tarred black. Against the base wall lies a gutter for drainage.
