Omschrijving
WACHTGEBOUWTJE, waarin wachtlokalen en strafkamers waren gesitueerd, maakt nu onderdeel uit van het artilleriemuseum. Gebouwd in 1881 naast en in dezelfde stijl met gelijke detaillering als het voormalige legeringsgebouw. Daarmee wordt de onderlinge samenhang ook qua vormgeving van bijzondere betekenis. Dit wordt benadrukt door de stedebouwkundige plaatsing in dezelfde richting en in een lijn met de overige bebouwing van het bovenkamp.
Rechthoekige bouwmassa van een laag met kap. Houten vakwerk gevels met baksteen invullingen in twee kleuren, zorgvuldig gedetailleerd en uitgewerkt. Gepleisterde plint, waarin hardstenen blokjes met frijnslag ter plaatse van de stijlen van het vakwerk. Onder de overstekende dakgoot is een rondomlopend fries van 'andreaskruizen'. Het schilddak heeft een zinken roevendak met op de hoeken van de nok een schoorsteen. Symmetrische voorgevel met een dubbele deur en ter weerszijden een venster met draairaam (indeling 1x3/1x3). Hierboven een bovenlicht. Boven de entreedeur een dakkapel. De dubbele deur is waarschijnlijk niet origineel vanwege de afwijkende uitvoering en het feit dat hij niet in het gevelstramien past. Description
GUARD BUILDING, which housed guard rooms and punishment cells, now forms part of the artillery museum. Built in 1881 next to and in the same style with equal detailing as the former military quarters building. This makes the mutual coherence also in terms of design of particular significance. The double door is probably not original due to the different execution and the fact that it does not fit into the facade pattern.
