Inleiding
De keramiekfabriek De Porceleyne Fles verplaatste haar werkzaamheden in het tweede decennium van de twintigste eeuw naar de Rotterdamseweg. Dit complexonderdeel, een FABRIEKSGEBOUW, dat aan alle zijden is vastgebouwd aan latere toevoegingen behoort tot die eerste bouwperiode. Het gebouw is met name aan de noord-, west- en oostzijde verbouwd. Deze gevels zijn van ondergeschikt belang voor de bescherming. De zuidgevel is gelegen aan de binnentuin. Aan deze gevel is in de jaren 1990 een glazen uitbouw gerealiseerd.
Het bouwwerk is opgetrokken in de bouwstijl van het Traditionalisme.
Omschrijving
Het fabrieksgebouw heeft een L-vormige plattegrond. De stam van de L-vorm bestaat uit een rechthoekig volume met twee bouwlagen onder een met pannen gedekt overstekend zadeldak. Het dak staat haaks op de Rotterdamseweg. De zuidgevel telt vijf traveeën. Voor de eerste travee is een tweelaagse uitbouw met balkon aangebracht. De geheel met bouwkeramiek versierde eerste bouwlaag van deze uitbouw heeft een afgeschuinde hoek, waarin een deur is aangebracht. De rechthoekige bovenbouw is bekroond door een keramische adelaar. De overige vier traveeën zijn door lisenen van elkaar gescheiden. In iedere bouwlaag zijn spaarvelden met gekoppelde rondboogvensters aangebracht.

The ceramics factory De Porceleyne Fles relocated its operations in the second decade of the twentieth century to the Rotterdamseweg.
