Inleiding
Het betreft het restant van de in 1829 op het voormalige bastion bij de Haag(se)poort, het huidige Kalverbos, aangelegde gemeentelijke BEGRAAFPLAATS, die als zodanig tot 1874 in gebruik is geweest. De oorspronkelijk vier perken (één voor elke klasse) tellende begraafplaats bestaat momenteel nog uit vier negentiende-eeuwse graven en grafkelders, waarvan die van de in 1845 overleden Karl Wilhelm Naundorff, de vermeende Lodewijk XVII (Charles Louis de Bourbon) de bekendste is. De andere nog bestaande graven zijn de grafkelders van de familie Van Hangest Baron d'Yvoy (1836), van de familie Maas Geesteranus (1847) en het graf van C.A. de Neve uit 1866. De overige graven zijn gaandeweg geruimd nadat de begraafplaats in 1874 zijn functie verloor.
De begraafplaats maakt deel uit van het beschermde stadsgezicht van Delft.
Omschrijving
Ensemble van vier graven op het 1ste klasse gedeelte van de voormalige Algemene Begraafplaats.
Het graf van Naundorff bestaat uit een liggende hardstenen zerk en een op geprofileerde hardstenen plinten staand hekwerk van ijzer met goudkleurige Franse lelies op de gecanneleerde gietijzeren hoekbalusters. Zerk en hekwerk dateren van 1904 en vervingen in dat jaar de in vervallende geraakte oorspronkelijke grafonderdelen.
De overige graven zijn eveneens bedekt met liggende, rechthoekige zerken van hardsteen. Het betreft het graf van Maas Geesteranus met een zerk op een vier graven tellende grafkelder, de grafkelder van H.M.L.J. van Hangest Baron D'Ÿvoy en het graf van C.A. de Neve.
Waardering

This concerns the remnant of the municipal CEMETERY laid out in 1829 on the former bastion at the Haag(se)poort, now Kalverbos, which was in use as such until 1874. The originally four-compartment cemetery (one for each class) currently still consists of four nineteenth-century graves and grave vaults, of which that of Karl Wilhelm Naundorff, who died in 1845, the alleged Louis XVII (Charles Louis de Bourbon) is the most well-known. The grave of Naundorff consists of a reclining hardstone slab and iron railings standing on profiled hardstone plinths with gold-coloured French fleur-de-lis on the fluted cast-iron corner balusters. The slab and railings date from 1904 and replaced that year the original grave components that had fallen into disrepair.
