Inleiding.
Het betreft een ten zuiden van het schip van de H. Michaëlkerk te Beek opgesteld, gebroken-wit geschilderd kunststenen BEELD op sokkel, voorstellende de H. Michaël. Het beeld is ongesigneerd en dateert uit omstreeks 1900.
Omschrijving.
Op een gebroken-wit geschilderde sokkel staat een beeld van de H. Michaël, die de draak aan zijn voeten met een lans doorboort. Elementen, zoals de banier aan de lans, zijn in plaatijzer uitgevoerd.
Waardering.
Het beeld is van algemeen belang. Het heeft kunsthistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de kerkelijke kunstproductie rond 1900. Het heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een belangrijke bebouwingsgroep.
