Inleiding.
Tussen de toren van de H. Leonarduskerk en de Kapelstraat staat een neo-gotisch H.Hartbeeld op sokkel, blijkens een inscriptie vervaardigd door J. Custers in 1922.
Omschrijving.
Het kalkstenen beeld is gesteld op een dito, in plattegrond vierkante, verjongende sokkel, waarop een koperen plaats met de tekst: "H.Hart van Jezus / zegen de parochie / Donk / U toegewijd / 1922".
Waardering.
Het beeld is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de katholieke devotiecultuur in het zuiden. Het heeft kunsthistorisch belang als voorbeeld van het werk van het atelier Custers. Het object maakt deel uit van een cultuurhistorisch waardevol complex.
