Inleiding.
Aan de noordelijke zijde van het kantoorgebouw staat, aan de weg langs het kanaal, een bakstenen MUUR met TRANSFORMATORHUISJE in traditionalistische vormen uit omstreeks 1920.
Omschrijving.
Het transformatorhuis maakt deel uit van de bakstenen fabrieksmuur onder ezelsrug, die het fabrieksterrein aan de oostelijke zijde van de Bosscheweg scheidt. Ter plaatse van het gebouwtje wijkt de muur sterk terug en sluit aan op de oostelijke gevel van het gebouw. Het bakstenen eenlaags transformatorhuis wordt gedekt door een plat dak. In de oostelijke gevel is een zware plaatijzeren deur aangebracht.
Waardering.
Het transformatorhuisje is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en technische ontwikkeling, namelijk de groei van de metaalindustrie in relatie tot de ontwikkelingen aan de Zuid-Willemsvaart in de periode rond 1900. Het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van de gebouwen voor de metaalnijverheid. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang door de eenvoudige en utilitaire vormentaal. Het heeft ensemblewaarden wegens de kwaliteit van de bebouwing in relatie tot de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met wegen en wateren.
