Inleiding
HEKWERK behorende bij het boerderijcomplex Kerkweg 3 te Zuidland. Het hekwerk doet dienst als afscheiding tussen siertuin en oprit, met gelijksoortig vormgegeven delen van het toegangshek op een betonnen damwand in de sloot evenwijdig aan de Kerkweg. Het hekwerk is waarschijnlijk in het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw geplaatst. In verband met de schaalvergroting van het boerenbedrijf is het tweedelige toegangshek uit elkaar geplaatst en op een vernieuwde betonnen damwand met duiker gezet. De scharnierende hekdelen zijn (tijdelijk?) verwijderd.
Omschrijving
Eenvoudig vormgegeven hekwerk met spijlen met pijlpunten.
De twee delen van het toegangshek hebben elk een gietijzeren pijler gedecoreerd met waterlijsten en een bolornament met aan de buitenzijde ter versteviging en ter versiering een zijkant met spijlen en pijlpunten geplaatst.

Het hekwerk is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische en de ensemblewaarde.

Introduction
FENCE belonging to the farm complex at Kerkweg 3 in Zuidland. The fence serves as a division between ornamental garden and driveway, with similarly designed sections of the entrance gate on a concrete sheet piling in the ditch parallel to the Kerkweg. The fence was probably placed in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. In connection with the expansion of the farm enterprise, the two-part entrance gate has been separated and placed on a renewed concrete sheet piling with culvert. The hinged gate sections have been (temporarily?) removed.
Description
Simply designed fence with spikes with arrow points.
The two sections of the entrance gate each have a cast-iron post decorated with drip mouldings and a ball ornament with on the outside for reinforcement and for decoration a side section with spikes and arrow points placed.
