Inleiding
KARNHUIS behorende bij het boerderijcomplex Kerkweg 3 te Zuidland, waarschijnlijk gebouwd in het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele trant. Het karnhuis staat naast de linker zijgevel van de Vlaamse schuur, op het punt waar de gevel verspringt en tot het woongedeelte gaat behoren. Een smalle steeg scheidt de varkensstal van de Vlaamse schuur.
Omschrijving
Het karnhuis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond met één bouwlaag onder een schilddak, dat gedekt is met geglazuurde tuiles du Nord en evenwijdig aan de kerkweg is geplaatst. De goten zijn voorzien van houten lijsten. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen in kruisverband. In de gevels zijn smalle rondboogvensters aangebracht. In de voorgevel (noordzijde) bevindt zich een rechtgesloten deur.

BUTTERY belonging to the farm complex at Kerkweg 3 in Zuidland, probably built in the last quarter of the nineteenth century in a Craft-traditional manner. The buttery stands beside the left side facade of the Flemish barn, at the point where the facade steps back and becomes part of the dwelling section. A narrow alleyway separates the pig sty from the Flemish barn.
Description
The buttery has a rectangular floor plan with one storey beneath a hipped roof, covered with glazed tuiles du Nord and placed parallel to the Kerkweg. The gutters are provided with wooden mouldings. The facades are built in brick in Flemish bond. In the facades are narrow round-arched windows. In the front facade (north side) there is a closed door.
