Inleiding
BOSSCHAGE genaamd "Kerkenbos", deel uitmakend van het rooms-katholiek kerkelijk complex St. Laurentius. Dit tussen de begraafplaats en de Munnikenweg gelegen bosperceel is door de toenmalige pastoor J.B. Brikkenaar bij testament van 3 maart 1761 nagelaten aan de statie Oudorp. Het ijzeren spijlenhek dat het bosperceel scheidt van de Munnikenweg is afkomstig uit de voortuin van de pastorie aan de Herenweg. In 1985 en 1996 is de begraafplaats in noordelijke richting vergroot ten koste van het Kerkenbos.
Omschrijving
Met loofbomen en struikgewas beplant bosperceel dat aan de Munnikenweg een breedte heeft van bijna 20 meter en zich vandaar in zuidelijke richting verbreed. Aan de westzijde wordt het bosperceel begrensd door een brede sloot, de Molentocht, en aan de oostzijde door een lindenlaan, het Stroomerlaantje. Vanaf laatstgenoemde loopt dwars door het bosperceel een onverhard bospad dat in zuidelijke richting afbuigt en uitkomt bij de begraafplaats.
Waardering
Het Kerkenbos is van algemeen belang wegens cultuurhistorische waarde als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het rooms-katholiek kerkelijk complex St. Laurentius.

Introduction
WOODLAND called "Kerkenbos", forming part of the Roman Catholic ecclesiastical complex St. Laurentius. This wooded plot situated between the cemetery and the Munnikenweg was bequeathed by testamentary deed dated 3 March 1761 by the then rector J.B. Brikkenaar to the station Oudorp. The iron railed fence which separates the wooded plot from the Munnikenweg originates from the front garden of the rectory on the Herenweg. In 1985 and 1996 the cemetery was enlarged in a northerly direction at the expense of the Kerkenbos.
Description
Wooded plot planted with deciduous trees and shrubs which has a width at the Munnikenweg of almost 20 metres and widens from there in a southerly direction. On the west side the wooded plot is bordered by a wide watercourse, the Molentocht, and on the east side by a linden lane, the Stroomerlaantje. From the latter an unpaved woodland path runs across the wooded plot which turns in a southerly direction and leads out at the cemetery.
Valuation
The Kerkenbos is of general interest due to its cultural-historical value as a historic-functional component of the Roman Catholic ecclesiastical complex St. Laurentius.
