Omschrijving complexonderdeel 1
De aan de Abel Tasmanlaan gelegen deels onderkelderde LANGHUISBOERDERIJ uit 1911 is opgetrokken op een in hoofdzaak rechthoekige plattegrond en telt grotendeels één bouwlaag in rode baksteen onder een samengestelde, rietgedekte kap met een strook pannen langs de onderzijde van de dakschilden. Het woonhuis bestaat uit een voorhuis van twee bouwlagen onder afgewolfd zadeldak, dat overgaat in het stalgedeelte. Hiertegen is aan beide zijden een lager, iets terugliggend dwarsgeplaatst bouwdeel gezet onder een steekkap. In de kil is aan de voorzijde een schoorsteen aangebracht. De gevels zijn boven een trasraam opgetrokken in rode baksteen. De rechtgesloten vensters hebben een getoogd boogveld waarboven een hanekamstrek. De kozijnen zijn afgewerkt met loden tandstrips, de ramen voorzien van roeden. Over het algemeen zijn de vensters uitgevoerd met paneelluiken. De gevels van het voorhuis zijn voorzien van sierankers, die van het stalgedeelte van staafankers.
De voorgevel of noordwestgevel is symmetrisch van opzet met in het risaliet twee vijftienruits schuifvensters en in de top een kruiskozijn. Ter weerszijden bevatten de bouwdelen eveneens een kruiskozijn.
De rechterzijgevel is voorzien van twee vijftienruits schuifvensters en bevat een tweetal draaivensters, gescheiden door een muurdam. De topgevel is beschoten.
Het stalgedeelte bevat een toegangsdeur met bovenlicht, twee draairamen, een klein zesruits venster en drie gietijzeren stalvensters.
De linkerzijgevel is nagenoeg identiek aan de rechterzijgevel, met uitzondering van de draairamen. De linkerzijgevel bevat in plaats hiervan de oorspronkelijke schuiframen. In de linkerzijgevel van het voorhuis bevindt zich tussen de vensters een gevelsteen met de tekst `De reizende man' en het jaartal 1913. In reliëf is een man met knapzak in een landschap uitgebeeld. Dit geveldeel bevat ook getraliede keldervensters.
De achtergevel is symmetrsich ingedeeld en heeft een getoogde opening waarin niet originele, kleinere openslaande deuren zijn gezet. Op de hoeken bevinden zich de mestdeuren. In de top zijn een hooiluik met bovenlicht en ter weerszijden een zesruits getoogd venster gezet. Het interieur is deels oorspronkelijk. In het midden van het woongedeelte is een lange gang gelegen die van zijgevel naar zijgevel loopt en de verschillende vertrekken ontsluit. Dit zijn een gewijzigde woonkamer, de opkamer, de kelder en de keuken. In de kelder is een ijzeren H-balk zichtbaar met het merk `Gutehoffnungshutte no. 24'. Het stalgedeelte is driebeukig en uitgevoerd met standvinken.
Waardering complexonderdeel 1
De boerderij is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als herkenbaar voorbeeld van een dwarshuisboerderij in traditionele stijl uit 1912-'13 met een gave hoofdvorm en detailleringen van met name het exterieur. The partly cellared LONGHOUSE FARMSTEAD located on the Abel Tasmanlaan, built in 1911, is erected on a principally rectangular ground plan and consists mostly of one storey in red brick beneath a composite, reed-thatched roof truss structure with a strip of tiles along the underside of the roof planes. The dwelling house consists of a front section of two storeys beneath a barrel-vaulted gabled roof, which transitions into the byre section. Against this, on both sides, a lower, slightly recessed transversely placed building component has been set beneath a mansard roof. In the neck a chimney has been placed on the front side. The gables are built above a strip of travertine stone in red brick. The right-angled windows have an arched arch field above which a cock's comb course. The frames are finished with lead saw-tooth strips, the sashes provided with glazing bars. In general the windows are executed with panel shutters. The gables of the front section are provided with ornamental wall anchors, those of the byre section with rod anchors.
The front elevation or north-west gable is symmetrical in composition with in the projection two fifteen-paned sash windows and at the apex a cross window. On either side the building components likewise contain a cross window.
The right side gable is provided with two fifteen-paned sash windows and contains a pair of casement windows, separated by a wall post. The top gable is boarded.
The byre section contains an entrance door with fanlight, two casement windows, a small six-paned window and three cast-iron stable windows.
The left side gable is nearly identical to the right side gable, with the exception of the casement windows. The left side gable contains in place of these the original sash windows. In the left side gable of the front section there is situated between the windows a stone plaque with the text 'De reizende man' and the year 1913. In relief a man with knapsack in a landscape is depicted. This gable section also contains barred cellar windows.
The rear elevation is symmetrically arranged and has an arched opening in which non-original, smaller doors opening outwards have been set. On the corners are located the manure doors. At the apex are a hay door with fanlight and on either side a six-paned arched window. The interior is partly original. In the middle of the living section is a long passage situated which runs from side gable to side gable and provides access to the various rooms. These are a modified living room, the upper room, the cellar and the kitchen. In the cellar an iron H-beam is visible with the mark 'Gutehoffnungshutte no. 24'. The byre section is three-aisled and executed with stanchions.

The farmstead is of general importance by reason of its cultural and architectural-historical value as a recognisable example of a transverse-house farmstead in traditional style from 1912-'13 with an intact main form and detailing, particularly of the exterior. Of cultural-historical value as a former tenant farmstead, built in the sight line and belonging to the country estate Herteveld. Of functional, spatial and urban design value in conjunction with the stable for horses annexed to a carriage shed and in relation to the Straatweg.
