Inleiding
Een van beide voormalige kapelanieën van de Sint Martinusparochie. Het pand is opgenomen in de straatwand met religieuze dienstwoningen aan de zuidzijde van de Sint Martinuskerk. De voormalige kapelanie is gebouwd in de stijl van het Traditionalisme met invloed van Neo-renaissance. Het pand werd gebouwd omstreeks 1880 aansluitend aan de andere voormalige kapelanie aan het binnenplein bij de Grote Kerkstraat.
Omschrijving
Voormalige kapelanie op een rechthoekige plattegrond. Het pand telt twee bouwlagen plus een zolderverdieping met wolfdak. Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is baksteen en natuursteen. Speklagen in een lichte tint baksteen. Rechthoekige houten vensters met zij- en bovenlichten. Rechthoekige houten deur met bovenlicht. De voorgevel is asymmetrisch ingedeeld. In het linkerdeel van de voorgevel de voordeur. Deze dateert van omstreeks 1970. De vensters zijn eveneens niet authentiek. Deur en vensters met hardstenen dorpelstenen. De dorpelstenen zijn opgenomen in een bakstenen waterlijst. In de plint twee kleine keldervensters. Deur en vensters eerste bouwlaag met een rondboogvormig vulstuk met hierin keramische decoraties. In de tweede bouwlaag aan de bovenzijde van de voordeur een tweedelig venster met een rondboogvormig vulstuk. Daarnaast twee driedelige vensters met een segmentboogvormig vulstuk. Onder de dakrand kleine boogfriezen. In het dakvlak van de voorgevel twee grote kantelvensters van omstreeks 1970. Aan de linkerzijgevel in het verlengde van de voorgevel een aangebouwde muur ter hoogte van anderhalve en een halve bouwlaag. Helemaal links in deze muur een segmentboogvormige houten deur. Aan het rechterdeel van de linkerzijgevel een aangebouwde serre met plat dak met hierop een balkon. Deze serre is omstreeks 1970 vergroot met een volume waardoor de voormalige binnenplaats thans geheel is overdekt. Aan de straatzijde een driedelig bovenlicht behorend bij deze aanbouw. In de tweede bouwlaag boven de serre een rechthoekige dubbele balkondeur met driedelig bovenlicht. Aan het linkerdeel van de linkerzijgevel een forse uitbouw over twee bouwlagen en afgedekt met een zadeldak. In de tweede bouwlaag van deze uitbouw een driedelig venster met rondboogvormig vulstuk. In de achtergevel aan de tuinzijde zijn omstreeks 1970 twee vensters toegevoegd. In de tweede bouwlaag achtergevel een drietal kleine venstertjes. Het INTERIEUR is qua structuur en uitmonstering gemoderniseerd.
Waardering
De voormalige kapelanie is van algemeen belang en bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als onderdeel van de religieuze bebouwing van de Sint Martinusparochie in de straatwand tegenover de wettelijk beschermde Sint Martinuskerk. Het pand bezit architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de toegepaste bouwstijl en detaillering. Het pand is tevens van historisch-stedenbouwkundig belang vanwege de situering in een straatwand met religieuze bebouwing en vanwege de gaafheid, met name van het exterieur, en de typologische zeldzaamheid.

Former chaplaincy on a rectangular ground plan. The property has two storeys plus an attic storey with half-hipped roof. The building materials used are brick and natural stone. Speckled courses in a light-toned brick. Rectangular wooden windows with side and fanlights. Rectangular wooden door with fanlight. The front facade is asymmetrically arranged. The front door in the left part of the front facade. This dates from around 1970. The windows are likewise not authentic. Door and windows with hard stone threshold stones. The threshold stones are incorporated in a brick drip moulding. In the plinth two small cellar windows. Door and windows first storey with a round-arched infill with ceramic decorations in it. In the second storey above the front door a two-part window with a round-arched infill. Beside it two three-part windows with a segmental-arched infill. Under the roof edge small arch friezes. In the roof plane of the front facade two large tilting windows from around 1970. On the left side facade in the extension of the front facade a built-on wall at the height of one and a half and half a storey. At the far left in this wall a segmental-arched wooden door. On the right part of the left side facade a built-on conservatory with flat roof with a balcony on it. This conservatory was enlarged around 1970 with a volume, as a result of which the former inner courtyard is now wholly covered over. On the street side a three-part fanlight belonging to this extension. In the second storey above the conservatory a rectangular double balcony door with three-part fanlight. On the left part of the left side facade a substantial extension over two storeys and covered with a gabled roof. In the second storey of this extension a three-part window with round-arched infill. In the rear facade on the garden side around 1970 two windows were added. In the second storey rear facade three small windows. The INTERIOR in terms of structure and fittings has been modernised.
Valuation
The former chaplaincy is of general importance and possesses cultural-historical value as part of the religious building of the Sint Martinusparochie in the streetfront opposite the legally protected Sint Martinuskerk. The property possesses architectural-historical value because of the building style and detailing applied. The property is furthermore of historical-urban planning importance because of its situation in a streetfront with religious buildings and because of its integrity, particularly of the exterior, and its typological rarity.
