Inleiding
Het WOONHUIS met bijbehorende garage en muur werd in 1922 naar tekeningen van de architect A.J. Kropholler als eigen woonhuis gebouwd in Traditionalistische stijl. Het geheel is gelegen in de wijk Clingenbosch op een deel van van de buitenplaats Blankenburg en Voorlinden.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaand woonhuis vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond, over een bouwlaag opgetrokken in rode handvormsteen onder een samengesteld, deels afgewolfd, rietgedekt zadeldak met rode nokvorsten. Haaks op het bouwvolume dat de afgewolfde kopse gevels naar het oosten (tuinzijde) en het westen (Zijdeweg) gericht heeft, is zuidelijk, een iets langer bouwdeel geplaatst. De dubbele vierruits vensters die het pand bezit zijn onder rollagen geplaatst en zijn op de begane grond voorzien van luiken.
Voorgevel (west) met links de kopse gevel van het oost-west geplaatste bouwdeel. Hierin is de entree geplaatst in een rondboogvormig, terugliggend portiek achter een hardstenen stoepje. De paneeldeur heeft een klein ruitje. Rechts van de entree een driezijdige erker met meerruits vensters in alle zijden onder een overkragend, halfrond, rietgedekt afdak. Op de verdieping van dit geveldeel zijn twee dubbele vierruits vensters geplaatst. In het rechter deel van de voorgevel bevinden zich twee dubbele meerruits vensters. Boven deze gevel is een dakkapel geplaatst met een dubbel meerruits venster.
De zuidelijke gevel is een puntgevel met een venster ter plaatse van de zolderverdieping.
De noordelijke gevel heeft een centraal geplaatste uitbouw op de begane grond met daarin een dubbel meerruits venster onder een houten luifel. In de beide zijgevels van de uitbouw zijn eveneens dubbele meerruits vensters geplaatst. Ter plaatse van de verdieping is een balkon met een gemetselde borstwering gemaakt. Het balkon is toegankelijk via een dubbele, meerruits balkondeur die in een dakkapel met lessenaardak geplaatst is.
De achtergevel is voorzien van dubbele meerruits vensters op de begane grond en de verdieping.
Garage vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken in rode handvormsteen onder een rietgedekt schilddak met rode nokvorsten. De gevel aan de straatzijde (oost ) heeft een schuivende garagedeur en een venster met tralies. Vanaf de noordelijke, kopse gevel van de garage loopt een gemetselde muur naar het woonhuis. Hierin is, ongeveer halverwege, een houten dubbele deur geplaatst.
Waardering
Het woonhuis met garage en muur uit 1922 is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde
- als voorbeeld van een woonhuis dat in het kader van grootschalige villabouw op kavels van historische buitenplaatsen, aan het begin van de 20ste eeuw tot stand kwam.

Description
Detached dwelling house based on a rectangular floor plan, erected over one storey in red handmoulded brick under a complex, partly catslide, thatched gabled roof with red ridge cresting. Perpendicular to the building volume that has the catslide gables facing east (garden side) and west (Zijdeweg), a slightly longer building section is placed to the south. The double four-light windows that the building has are placed under rollers and on the ground floor are provided with shutters.
Front facade (west) with on the left the gable end of the east-west placed building section. In this is placed the entrance in a round-arched, recessed porch behind a hard stone step. The panel door has a small pane of glass. To the right of the entrance a three-sided oriel window with multi-light windows on all sides under an overhanging, semi-circular, thatched roof. On the upper floor of this facade section are two double four-light windows placed. In the right part of the front facade are two double multi-light windows. Above this facade a roof dormer is placed with a double multi-light window.
The southern facade is a pointed gable with a window at the location of the attic floor.
The northern facade has a centrally placed extension on the ground floor with in it a double multi-light window under a wooden canopy. In both side facades of the extension are likewise double multi-light windows placed. At the location of the upper floor a balcony with a masonry balustrade has been made. The balcony is accessible via a double, multi-light balcony door placed in a roof dormer with a mansard roof.
The rear facade is provided with double multi-light windows on the ground floor and upper floor.
Garage based on a rectangular floor plan erected in red handmoulded brick under a thatched hipped roof with red ridge cresting. The facade on the street side (east) has a sliding garage door and a barred window. From the northern, gable end of the garage runs a masonry wall to the dwelling house. In this is, approximately halfway, a wooden double door placed.
