Inleiding complexonderdeel 3
(Voormalige) PORTIERSWONING, behorend bij de buitenplaats Frisiastate, gebouwd in Nieuw Historiserende stijl met invloed van de Neo-Hollandse Renaissance en de Engels Landhuisstijl. Het pand kwam in opdracht van de heer E.P. Monchy naar tekeningen van architecten Z. Hoek en J.T. Wouters in 1910 gereed.
Omschrijving
Het éénlaagse pand heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en is opgetrokken in rode baksteen in kruisverband boven een plint van grauwe baksteen. De gevels zijn voorzien van zandstenen sierbanden en -blokken. Het samengestelde mansarde-zadeldak is belegd met leien in Maasdekking. Kruisvensters en dubbele vensters met roedenverdeling onder strekken met natuurstenen aanzetstenen en luiken met zandlopermotief. De entree met eenvoudige paneeldeur bevindt zich in de oostgevel, rechts van een opgaand risaliet met dubbel zoldervenster onder latei. De topgevel van de risaliet is voorzien van een zandstenen afdeklijst.
Waardering
De uit 1910 daterende (voormalige) portierswoning, behorend bij het landhuis Frisistate, is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde
- als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex, gebouwd naar analogie van een historische buitenplaats.

(Former) PORTER'S LODGE, belonging to the country estate Frisiastate, built in New Historicising style with influence from the Neo-Dutch Renaissance and the English Country House style. The building was completed in 1910 on the commission of Mr E.P. Monchy according to designs by architects Z. Hoek and J.T. Wouters.
Description
The single-storey building has a rectangular floor plan and is constructed in red brickwork in English bond above a plinth of grey brickwork. The facades are furnished with sandstone ornamental bands and blocks. The composite mansard gabled roof is covered with slate in Maas coverage. Cross windows and double windows with glazing bars under natural stone jamb stones and shutters with hourglass motif. The entrance with simple panelled door is located in the east facade, to the right of a projecting risalit with double attic window under lintel. The pediment of the risalit is furnished with a sandstone coping.
