Inleiding complexonderdeel 2
Bij het complex De Rietvink behorende TUINAANLEG met bijbehorende MUUR en HEKPIJLERS, uitgevoerd in Nieuw Architectonische in 1916 naar ontwerp van J.J. Brandes. De tuin is aan de straatzijde gedeeltelijk ommuurd, en is toegankelijk via twee bakstenen hekpijlers.
Omschrijving
De aanleg is uitgevoerd in rechtlijnige patronen met een centraal gazon met daaromheen borders die zijn beplant met diverse heesters, loof en naaldbomen die zorgvuldig op kleuren bladconstructie geselecteerd zijn. De beplanting bestaat onder meer uit diverse coniferen, acer, japanse kers. Langs de straatzijde staat en muur en twee decoratief opmetselde hekpijlers met nissen en natuurstenen afdekplaten waarop houten bekroningen met de naam van het huis geplaatst zijn. De oprijlaan is omgeven door geschoren hagen.
Waardering
De tuinaanleg bij de villa de Rietvink is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische en tuinhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een karakteristieke vroeg 20ste-eeuwse tuin in Nieuw Architectonische tuinstijl en wegens de ensemblewaarden en ruimtelijke historische relatie met de villa.

Belonging to the complex De Rietvink, GARDEN LAYOUT with associated WALL and GATE PIERS, executed in New Architecture in 1916 after a design by J.J. Brandes. The garden is partially walled on the street side, and is accessible via two brick gate piers.
Description
The layout is executed in rectilinear patterns with a central lawn surrounded by borders planted with various shrubs, deciduous and coniferous trees carefully selected for their foliage colour composition. The planting consists among others of various conifers, acer, Japanese cherry. Along the street side stand a wall and two decoratively constructed gate piers with niches and natural stone coping plates on which wooden caps bearing the name of the house are placed. The driveway is surrounded by clipped hedges.

The garden layout at the villa De Rietvink is of general importance due to architectural and cultural-historical and garden-historical value as an example of a characteristic early 20th-century garden in New Architecture garden style and due to the ensemble values and spatial historical relationship with the villa.
