Inleiding complexonderdeel 3
Voormalige VEESTAL in Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant is blijkens een stichtingssteen in 1840 opgetrokken als onderdeel van de boerderij 'Meijendel', welke omstreeks 1830 is gebouwd. De stal staat aan de westzijde aan een pleinvormig ruimte waaromheen de overige complexonderdelen van de boerderij zijn gegroepeerd. De nokrichting loopt in noord-zuidrichting.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaand rechthoekige éénlaags stalgebouw met zolder onder een zadeldak met wolfseinden, gedekt met rode verbeterde Hollandse pannen. Het gebouw is opgetrokken uit grauwe baksteen (kruisverband) met strekken boven deuren en vensters. De zwart geschilderde plint wordt afgesloten door een witte sierband. De aan de erfzijde gelegen langsgevel (oost) heeft a-symmetrische gevelindeling met van links naar rechts een negenruitsschuifraam, een zesruitsschuifraam in de dichtzetting van een deur, twee deuren met vierruitsbovenlicht en vervolgens een negen- en een zesruitsschuifraam. Duimen van luiken zijn deels nog aanwezig, dan wel herkenbaar. Boven de linkerdeur en iets links daarvan zijn twee (zandstenen) stichtingssteentjes in de gevel geplaatst met de tekst: 'A.G. 1840'.
In de achtergevel (west) zijn drie negenruitsschuiframen aangebracht.
De beide kopgevels hebben in hoofdlijnen een symmetrisch gevelindeling met in het midden een dubbele inrijdeur, terwijl de noordelijke ten behoeve van de huidige stalindeling is dichtgezet. Rechts ervan bevindt zich een venster met tweeruits raam. In de oostgevel nog een tweetal grupdeuren. Beide kopgevels hebben een zolderluik in het midden van de geveltop en worden afgesloten door eenvoudige houten boeiborden.
INWENDIG bevat de stal een klinkerbestrating en een eenvoudige balkenzoldering.
Waardering
De (voormalige) veestal is van algemeen belang wegens architectuur en cultuurhistorische waarde
- als ruimtelijk en functioneel onderdeel van een duinboerderij uit het tweede kwart van de 19de eeuw, die is ontstaan als experimenteel project van de ontginning van duinvlakte naar aanleiding van een prijsvraag uit 1816 van de 'Maatschappij ter bevordering van den Landbouw'.

Former CATTLE BYRE in Craft-traditional building style was, according to a foundation stone in 1840, erected as part of the farmhouse 'Meijendel', which was built around 1830. The byre stands on the west side at a square-shaped space around which the other complex components of the farmhouse are grouped. The roof ridge runs in a north-south direction.
Description
Detached rectangular single-storey stable building with loft under a gabled roof with half-hipped ends, covered with red improved Dutch tiles. The building is constructed of grey brick (English bond) with brick stretchers above doors and windows. The black-painted plinth is finished with a white decorative band. The long facade on the farmyard side (east) has an asymmetrical facade layout with, from left to right, a nine-pane sash window, a six-pane sash window in the infilling of a door, two doors with four-pane fanlights and subsequently a nine- and a six-pane sash window. Shutter thumbs are partly still present or recognizable. Above the left door and slightly to the left of it are two sandstone foundation stones in the facade with the text: 'A.G. 1840'.
In the rear facade (west) three nine-pane sash windows have been installed.
Both gable ends have in broad outline a symmetrical facade layout with a double carriage door in the centre, while the northern one has been infilled for the current stable layout. To the right of it is a window with a two-pane frame. In the east facade two further group doors. Both gable ends have a loft hatch in the middle of the gable top and are finished with simple wooden bargeboarding.
INTERIOR, the byre contains brick paving and a simple beam ceiling.
