Inleiding complexonderdeel 2
De DUBBELE DIENSTWONING, behorend bij de historische buitenplaats Eikenrode, is gebouwd in 1913 naar tekeningen van de architecten Smit en Fels in een op de Engelse Landhuisstijl geïnspireerde bouwstijl.
Het pand ligt ten oosten van het hoofdgebouw met de nokrichting evenwijdig aan de Rijksstraatweg.
Omschrijving
Gespiegelde, eenlaagse dubbele woning vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken in rode baksteen (halfsteensverband). Het overstekende schilddak is met rode leipannen gedekt en heeft op de nokken schoorstenen. De driedelige vensterpartijen bevinden zich tussen rollagen De gevel aan de straatzijde (zuid) heeft vier vensterpartijen en boven iedere woning een dakkapel voorzien van een vierdelig venster dat met glas-in-lood gevuld is.
In de achtergevel (noord) zijn de entrees geplaatst en, ter plaatse van iedere woning, een aanbouw onder een lessenaardak.

The DOUBLE SERVICE DWELLING, belonging to the historical country estate Eikenrode, was built in 1913 according to designs by architects Smit and Fels in a building style inspired by the English Country House style.

Description
Mirrored, single-storey double dwelling constructed from a rectangular ground plan in red brick (half-brick bond). The overhanging hipped roof is covered with red slate tiles and has chimneys on the ridges. The three-part window arrangements are situated between string courses. The facade on the street side (south) has four window arrangements and above each dwelling a roof dormer provided with a four-part window filled with leaded glass.
The entrances are placed in the rear facade (north) and, at the location of each dwelling, an extension beneath a lean-to roof.
