De PARKAANLEG van Arentsburgh en Hoekenburg is in landschapsstijl in de jaren twintig van de twintigste eeuw tot stand gekomen, beide parken hebben een oudere oorsprong. Het terrein waarop de parken liggen behoort tot een beschermd archeologisch gebied van zeer hoge waarde gezien de nog aanwezige resten van de Romeinse stad 'Forum Hadriani'. De parken zijn met elkaar verbonden en volgens een zelfde concept aangelegd. Ze worden begrensd door de Arentsburghlaan - de muur langs Effatha - de sloot langs Effatha - het hek langs Hoekenburg - De Vliet - de Hoekenburglaan - de grenzen van de achterzijde van de percelen van woningen aan de Effathalaan, Den Burghstraat en Ds. Veldhoenlaan.
Omschrijving
Het langgerekte terrein van Arentsburgh, oorspronkelijk lopende vanaf de Vliet tot aan de Geestbrugweg, en het min of meer vierkante terrein van Hoekenburg zijn samengevoegd in een landschappelijke aanleg met slingerende paden en (slinger)vijvers en open gazons. Solitaire bomen bepalen in hoge mate de sfeer van de parken. In park Arentsburgh bevinden zich enkele beukenbomen langs de voormalige oprijlaan van Arentsburgh. Deze laan lag in de middenas van het landhuis (noord-zuid georiënteerd). In het park Arentsburgh bevindt zich een ongeveer veertig meter lange muur, die west-oostelijk georiënteerd is.
Waardering
De parkaanleg van Arentsburgh en Hoekenburg is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en tuinarchitectuurhistorische waarde en ensemblewaarde:

The PARK DEVELOPMENT of Arentsburgh and Hoekenburg was created in landscape style in the 1920s; both parks have an older origin.
