Inleiding complexonderdeel 3
Bij de buitenplaats Eemwijk behorend TOEGANGSHEK uit 1918. Het in een neobarokke stijl vervaardige hek met de door architect R.J. Hoogeveen ontworpen hekpijlers staat aan het Oosteinde aan het begin van de oprijlaan naar het huis.
Omschrijving
Smeedijzeren toegangshek tussen hekpijlers van baksteen en zandsteen. Het betreft een dubbel smeedijzeren hek, waarvan de bewegende delen zijn bevestigd aan smalle onbeweegbare ijzeren hekdelen, die zijn bevestigd aan hekpijlers van baksteenm en grijze hardsteen. De hekken hebben in gesloten toestand een convexe welving in het midden, die aansluit op een eveneens convex gewelfd portaal, dat wordt bekroond door een lantaarn. De bewegende hekdelen zijn aan de onderkant versierd met krullen en acanthusbladeren en zijn daarboven ingevuld met spijlen. Het decoratieve portaal bevat naast fijn ajourwerk de naam 'EEMWIJK' en een tussen voluten ingeklemde, achtzijdige lantaarn. De bewegingloze smalle hekdelen aan weerszijden van de hekpijlers zijn eveens ingevuld met een combinatie van krullen en rechte spijlen. De koppen hebben een uitkragende profielrand en worden bekroond door op vierkante blokken staande vazen.

ENTRANCE GATE belonging to the country estate Eemwijk from 1918. The gate, made in a neo-baroque style with gate piers designed by architect R.J. Hoogeveen, stands at the Oosteinde at the beginning of the access drive to the house.
Description
Wrought-iron entrance gate between gate piers of brick and sandstone. It is a double wrought-iron gate, the moveable parts of which are attached to narrow fixed iron gate sections, which are attached to gate piers of brick and grey hard stone. The gates have in the closed position a convex curve in the middle, which connects to an equally convex arched portal, which is crowned by a lantern. The moveable gate sections are decorated at the bottom with scrolls and acanthus leaves and are filled above with bars. The decorative portal contains, in addition to fine lattice work, the name 'EEMWIJK' and an octagonal lantern set between volutes. The fixed narrow gate sections on either side of the gate piers are likewise filled with a combination of scrolls and straight bars. The gate piers have sandstone bases, likewise sandstone-made heads and a shaft constructed of brick. The corners of the piers are chamfered. The heads have a projecting moulded edge and are crowned by urns standing on square blocks.
