Inleiding
Bij de ophaalbrug 'de Nieuwe Tolbrug' staat een BRUGWACHTERSHUISJE met aangebouwd gemak gebouwd in 1891-1892 met de kenmerken van de Chaletstijl. Het huisje heeft zijn oorspronkelijke functie verloren en is in de jaren tachtig van de 20ste eeuw vervangen door een nabijgelegen, modern exemplaar. Het huisje is vrijwel identiek aan het brugwachtershuisje bij de 'Kerkbrug'.
Omschrijving
Vanuit een in hoofdzaak vierkante plattegrond, in schone baksteen en vakwerk opgetrokken huisje onder een met zinken schaliën gedekt, uitkragend tentdak met gemetselde schoorsteen op de top en een staande onderrand. Tegen de achterzijde staat een minder hoog opgaand, eveneens in vakwerk uitgevoerd gemak. De gevelopeningen zijn rechtgesloten. De gevels van de hoofdvorm zijn zogenaamde vakwerkgevels, die bestaan uit een samenstel van houten stijlen, regels en kruishouten met invullingen van schone baksteen. De haaks op de Vliet staande rechter gevel bevat een boven een gemetseld stoepje staande deur met links daarvan een smal, door een luik afgesloten zijlicht. Tegen de blinde achtergevel staat een tegelijkertijd aangebouwd gemak met een paneeldeur. De linkergevel van het bruchtwachterhuisje is - evenals de naar de brug gerichte gevel - in het midden voorzien van een venster, dat met luiken is afgesloten.

Het brugwachtershuisje is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische en de situationele waarde.

Introduction
At the bascule bridge 'de Nieuwe Tolbrug' stands a BRIDGE-KEEPER'S LODGE with an adjoining outbuilding, built in 1891-1892 with characteristics of the Chalet style. The lodge has lost its original function and was replaced in the 1980s by a nearby modern example. The lodge is virtually identical to the bridge-keeper's lodge at the 'Kerkbrug'.
Description
From a substantially square ground plan, constructed in fair-faced brickwork and timber-framing, the lodge stands under a tent roof covered with zinc tiles with a moulded chimney on top and a standing lower edge. Against the rear stands a lower outbuilding, likewise executed in timber-framing. The facade openings are square-headed. The facades of the main building are so-called timber-framed facades, which consist of an assembly of wooden posts, beams and cross-timbers with infills of fair-faced brickwork. The right facade, at right angles to the Vliet, contains a door standing above a moulded step, with a narrow side-light to its left, closed by a shutter. Against the blank rear facade stands an outbuilding built at the same time, with a panel door. The left facade of the bridge-keeper's lodge is—as is the facade facing the bridge—fitted in the middle with a window closed by shutters.
