TUINMANSWONING daterend uit 1889 behorende tot de buitenplaats Zeerust.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken tuinmanswoning, bestaande uit één bouwlaag onder met Hollandse pannen gedekt schilddak met pironnen. De in baksteen opgetrokken witgepleisterde gevels op zwart geschilderde plint zijn voorzien van muurankers en worden afgesloten door een kroonlijst. De vensters met houten kozijnen en waterdorpels zijn afgehangen met persiennes. Aan de noordzijde de éénlaags aanbouw uit 1972 op rechthoekige plattegrond, onder doorgetrokken dakschild. Voorgevel (west): in het midden van de gevel een vierruitsschuifvenster met tweeruitsbovenlicht en voorzetraam. Erboven een dakkapel met vierruitsvenster en een eenvoudig geprofileerde houten omlijsting. Links in de recente aanbouw een houten deur, onder een afdak op ijzeren palen. Zijgevel (zuid): twee openslaande vensters met tweeruitsbovenlicht. Op het dak een hoog opgemetselde bakstenen schoorsteen en rechts een recent dakraam. Achtergevel (oost): heeft links een lage uitbouw onder doorgetrokken dak, voorzien van twee zesruitsvensters met voorzetramen maar zonder persiennes (rechter venster in 1972 ingezet ter vervanging van een deur). Rechts om de hoek (noordgevel van de lage uitbouw) een nieuwe deur. In de oostgevel van de recente aanbouw rechts een klein hooggeplaatst raampje (van het toilet) en linksboven tegen de hoek een vierkant houten luikje. Zijgevel (noord) van de aanbouw heeft rechts een roosvenster.

De tuinmanswoning is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarden vanwege de oorspronkelijke functie en de mate van gaafheid in hoofdvorm, detaillering en materiaalgebruik van het exterieur. Voorts bezit de tuinmanswoning ensemblewaarde wegens de beeldbepalende ligging van de woning langs de Westvlietweg en de Vliet en uit de ruimtelijk-functionele samenhang met de overige complexonderdelen.

Gardener's cottage constructed on rectangular plan, consisting of one storey under hipped roof covered with Dutch tiles with cresting. The facades constructed in brick with white plaster on black-painted plinth are provided with wall anchors and are finished with a cornice. The windows with wooden frames and drip moulding are hung with blinds. On the north side the single-storey extension from 1972 on rectangular plan, under continuous sloping roof. Front facade (west): in the middle of the facade a four-pane sash window with two-pane fanlight and outer frame. Above it a roof dormer with four-pane window and a simply moulded wooden surround. On the left in the recent extension a wooden door, under a canopy on iron posts. Side facade (south): two casement windows with two-pane fanlight. On the roof a high-built-up brick chimney and on the right a recent roof window. Rear facade (east): has on the left a low outbuilding under continuous roof, provided with two six-pane windows with outer frames but without blinds (right window inserted in 1972 as replacement of a door). On the right around the corner (north facade of the low outbuilding) a new door. In the east facade of the recent extension on the right a small high-placed window (of the toilet) and above on the left against the corner a square wooden shutter. Side facade (north) of the extension has on the right a louvre window.

The gardener's cottage is of general importance due to its cultural and architectural-historical values because of the original function and the degree of integrity in main form, detailing and material use of the exterior. Furthermore, the gardener's cottage possesses ensemble value due to the visually distinctive location of the cottage along the Westvlietweg and the Vliet and from the spatial-functional coherence with the other complex components.
