Inleiding
De voormalige PASTORIE werd ontworpen als BOERDERIJ van het kortgeveltype en gebouwd als noodpastorie in 1894 voor pastoor Kamp in opdracht van Hein Beunis, die vanaf 1894 de functie van kerkmeester zou vervullen. Het pand heeft een ambachtelijk-traditionele, streekeigen bouwtrant. Nadat de pastorie in 1896 gereed kwam nam de opdrachtgever zelf zijn intrek in het pand, dat in gebruik werd genomen als boerderij.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaagse pand heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen en op het zadeldak liggen zwarte oudhollandse pannen. De voorgevel heeft een gepleisterde plint en aan weerskanten van de vernieuwde paneeldeur met gietijzeren levensboom in het bovenlicht, een zesruits schuifvenster. De vensterdorpels zijn van hardsteen, de bovenlichten zijn afgezet met strekken. Onder de vensters bevinden zich reliëfplaquettes. Hierop staat; "A. Beunis" en het jaartal "1894". Links van de deur is een terracotta reliëf van Maria met Kind ingemetseld, daterend uit circa 1945. Midden boven de deur bevindt zich een kleiner zesruits schuifvenster. De overkragende dakrand rust op klosjes en is afgezet met een gesneden houten windveer. In de rechterzijgevel bevindt zich een smal drieruits schuifraam. Verderop een opkamerraam en een getoogd stalraam. De linkerzijgevel bezit een vernieuwd en vergroot raam en een getoogd stalraam. De achtergevel heeft een smalle rondboogdeur en een stel hoge rechtgesloten staldeuren.
Waardering
Het gebouw is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuur-historisch belang als voorbeeld van een geestelijke en bestuurlijke ontwikkeling, met name de stichting van nieuwe katholieke kerkdorpen in Midden-Brabant. The former PARSONAGE was designed as a FARMHOUSE of the short-gable type and built as a temporary parsonage in 1894 for pastor Kamp on the orders of Hein Beunis, who from 1894 would hold the office of churchwarden. The building has a traditional craftsman-style, local building character. After the parsonage was completed in 1896 the client himself moved into the building, which was then used as a farmhouse.
Description
The single-storey building has a rectangular floor plan. The facades are constructed of machine-made brick and on the gabled roof lie black old-Dutch tiles. The front facade has a plastered plinth and on either side of the renewed panelled door with cast-iron tree-of-life design in the fanlight, a six-pane sash window. The window sills are of hard stone, the fanlights are trimmed with frames. Below the windows are relief plaques. On these is written; "A. Beunis" and the date "1894". To the left of the door a terracotta relief of Mary with Child is set in the brickwork, dating from around 1945. In the middle above the door is a smaller six-pane sash window. The projecting roof edge rests on knobs and is trimmed with a carved wooden bargeboard. In the right side facade is a narrow three-pane sash window. Further along a room window and an arched stable window. The left side facade has a renewed and enlarged window and an arched stable window. The rear facade has a narrow round-arch door and a pair of tall straight-closed stable doors.
Valuation
The building is of general importance. It has cultural-historical importance as an example of a spiritual and administrative development, in particular the establishment of new Catholic church villages in Middle Brabant. It has typological value as an example of a temporary parsonage. The complex has ensemble value because of its setting, connected with the development of the church village.
