Inleiding
De HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG in Landschapsstijl bij het landhuis Oud-Bussem dateert in aanleg uit het begin van de 19de eeuw. In die periode is, mogelijk naar ontwerp van J.D. Zocher sr., rond het huis een park in vroege landschapsstijl aangelegd met behoud van een oudere rechte lanenstructuur in het bos. Het Bikberger bos is ook in die periode aangelegd. Uit 1910 dateert een ontwerp voor een tuinaanleg rond het oude huis van L.A. Springer waarop hij in de bestaande situatie enkele nieuwe elementen heeft toegevoegd.
Omschrijving
De park- en tuinaanleg bestaat uit open ruimtes met solitairen voor en achter het landhuis, die gedeeltelijk omzoomd worden door een dichte bosrand. Vanaf de entree bij de hekpijlers slingert de door bomen geflankeerde oprijlaan langs de noordzijde van het gazon naar de rotonde bij de hoofdingang in de linkerzijgevel van het huis. De oprijlaan vervolgt zijn weg voor het huis langs en eindigt bij een wandelpad in het bos waar een aftakking terugvoert naar de entree. De rechte laanstructuren die in het bos rond het huis bewaard zijn gebleven dateren van vóór 1800 en zijn restanten van de oudere formele aanleg. In de gazons aan de voor en achterzijde enkele boomgroepen en solitairen met onder meer rode en groene beuken, die de zichtassen vanuit en op het huis begeleiden. Enkele bomen dateren van voor 1800.

The HISTORICAL GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT in landscape style at country house Oud-Bussem dates in its layout from the early 19th century. In that period, possibly designed by J.D. Description
The park and garden layout consists of open spaces with solitary trees in front of and behind the country house, which are partially bordered by dense woodland edge. From the entrance at the gate piers a winding tree-lined drive runs along the north side of the lawn to the roundabout at the main entrance in the left side facade of the house.
