Inleiding.
TUINHUIS in de tuin achter Paviljoen J van het St. Servatiusgesticht. Het tuinhuis is gebouwd omstreeks 1905-1908 en is gesitueerd in de zuidoostelijke hoek op een kunstmatige verhoging uitziend over de tuin.
Omschrijving.
Het vrijstaande houten tuinhuis is gebouwd op een rechthoekige voetplaat met zwartgeteerde plint. De wanden van het bouwwerk, dat uit een constructie van stijlen en regels bestaat, zijn met verticale houten delen dichtgezet. Aan de voorzijde is het tuinhuis voorzien van een groot drielicht met aan de bovenzijde rondboogvormig afgesloten ramen. De ramen zijn gevuld met een decoratieve gebogen roedeverdeling. Het middelste hogere raam wordt halverwege onderbroken door een gesloten veld. De voorgevel heeft voorts een beschot van diagonale houten delen, in de borstwering uitgevoerd in keperverband. Het houten gebouwtje wordt afgedekt met een overstekend zadeldak met de nokrichting dwars op de voorgevel. Langs de zijgevels heeft het dak fors overstekende bakgoten op houten korbelen. De voorzijde is afgewerkt met een eindspant met rondboog, als omlijsting voor het genoemde middenvenster. Het spant is versierd met uitgezaagde vullingstukken.
Waardering.
Het tuinhuis in de tuin van Paviljoen J bezit algemeen belang en is van cultuur-historische en architectuur-historische waarde als functioneel en verfraaiend onderdeel van een van de patiëntentuinen van het St. Servatiusgesticht. Het bouwwerk heeft bouwhistorische en architectuur-historische waarde vanwege de toegepaste techniek als voorbeeld van vroeg twintigste-eeuwse houtbouw, en vanwege de voor die tijd kenmerkende ornamentiek.

GARDEN HOUSE in the garden behind Pavilion J of the St. Servatiusgesticht. The garden house was built around 1905-1908 and is situated in the south-eastern corner on an artificial elevation overlooking the garden.

The detached wooden garden house is built on a rectangular base with black-tarred plinth. The walls of the structure, which consists of a construction of posts and rails, are closed off with vertical wooden elements. On the front facade the garden house is furnished with a large three-light window with semi-circular rounded windows at the top. The windows are filled with decorative curved glazing bars. The middle taller window is interrupted halfway through by a closed panel. The front facade furthermore has boarding of diagonal wooden elements, executed in herringbone bond in the breast rail. The wooden building is covered with a projecting gabled roof with the ridge direction perpendicular to the front facade. Along the side facades the roof has substantially projecting eaves gutters on wooden corbels. The front is finished with an end rafter with rounded arch, as framing for the said middle window. The rafter is decorated with sawn-out filler pieces.
Valuation.
The garden house in the garden of Pavilion J has general importance and is of cultural-historical and architectural-historical value as a functional and ornamental component of one of the patient gardens of the St. Servatiusgesticht. The building has building-historical and architectural-historical value because of the applied technique as an example of early twentieth-century timber construction, and because of the ornamentation characteristic of that period.
