Inleiding.
MUZIEKTENT gesitueerd aan de noordzijde van de speelweide van het St. Annagesticht. De muziektent is vermoedelijk tegelijkertijd met de naastgelegen draaimolen omstreeks 1930-1935 gebouwd.
Omschrijving.
Achthoekige muziektent op een in baksteen in kruisverband gemetseld basement, voorzien van aangemetselde plantenbakken langs de zijden. De tent is aan de zuidzijde toegankelijk via een uit vijf treden bestaande, sierlijk uitzwenkende bakstenen trap.
De muziektent wordt afgesloten door een tentdak bekroond door een piron en gedragen door acht eenvoudige ronde ijzeren kolommen die op gemetselde pijlertjes staan. Het overstekende dak heeft een omlopende mastgoot. De constructie bestaat uit radiaal gerichte spanten die vastzitten aan de kolommen. Deze onderranden en de bovenranden van deze geklonken vakwerkspanten volgen de daklijn. Het vakwerk bestaat uit verticalen en kruisende diagonalen. De spanten zijn in de top verbonden aan een houten hangstijl, waartegen ook trekstaven vanaf elk spant aansluiten. Het plafond is met smalle schrootjes betimmerd. Aan het plafond hingen oorspronkelijk vier lampen, waarvan er thans nog drie aanwezig zijn. De kolommen worden aan de bovenzijde met elkaar verbonden door een soort sierspantjes van geknipt plaatijzer in geometrische motieven. Vijf zijden tussen de kolommen zijn dichtgezet met verticale kraalschoten. De twee zijden aan weerszijden van de trap zijn met nieuwe hekwerken gesloten.
Oorspronkelijk was de vloer van het podium bekleed met witte en rode keramische tegels. Deze betegeling is verwijderd. Op enkele steunbeertjes tegen de onderbouw van de tent bevinden zich nog wel resten van een afdekking in rode tegels.
Waardering.
De muziektent op de speelweide van het St. Annagesticht is van algemeen, cultuur-historisch en architectuur-historisch belang als functioneel en verfraaiend onderdeel van het terrein van het St. Annagesticht. Het betreft een typologisch goed voorbeeld van een muziektent uit de jaren dertig van de twintigste eeuw, met een kenmerkende ornamentiek. De muziektent heeft hoge ensemblewaarden in samenhang met de nabijgelegen draaimolen-ombouw, door de situering, de bestemming en de overeenkomsten in detaillering.

Description.
Octagonal music tent on a basement built in brick in English bond, provided with planted boxes along the sides. The tent is accessible on the south side via a gracefully sweeping brick staircase consisting of five steps.
The music tent is closed by a tent roof crowned by a final and carried by eight simple round iron columns that stand on bricked piers. The projecting roof has a continuous gutter. The construction consists of radially arranged rafters that are attached to the columns. These lower edges and upper edges of these riveted truss rafters follow the roof line. The trusswork consists of verticals and crossing diagonals. The rafters are connected at the top to a wooden hanging strut, to which tension bars from each rafter also connect. The ceiling is boarded with narrow boards. Originally four lamps hung from the ceiling, of which three are now still present. The columns are connected at the upper end by a kind of ornamental rafters of cut sheet metal in geometric motifs. Five sides between the columns are closed with vertical beading. The two sides on either side of the staircase are closed with new railings.
Originally the platform floor was covered with white and red ceramic tiles. This tiling has been removed. On several buttresses against the substructure of the tent, remains of a covering in red tiles are still present.
