Inleiding
VILLA `Klein Wiarda State' met HEK gebouwd in 1909 naar ontwerp van de architect J.A. HEUVELINK (1879-1949) uit Apeldoorn, in opdracht van de heer A. Mentz in overgangsarchitectuur beïnvloed door de chaletstijl, de neo-renaissance en het rationalisme. De villa bevindt zich aan de westzijde van de Rijksstraatweg binnen de bebouwde kom van Voorst in de gemeente Voorst.
Omschrijving
VILLA `Klein Wiarda State' met HEK met rechthoekig grondplan, bestaat uit twee bouwlagen afgesloten door een samengesteld dak met plat en royaal overstek gedekt met gesmoorde kruispannen. Op het platte dak bevindt zich een aantal onregelmatig verdeelde schoorsteenschachten. Het dak is voorzien van een aangekapt zadeldak op de zuidoosthoek, een aangekapt zadeldak aan de oostzijde en een lessenaarsdak aan de noordzijde. De geprofileerde bakgoot wordt ondersteund door klossen of korbeelstellen. De gevels met gepleisterd trasraam zijn opgetrokken in bruinrode baksteen in kruisverband. In de gevels bevinden zich diverse speklagen van gele verblendsteen. In de gevels bevinden zich grotendeels B-vensters aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door een geprofileerde hardstenen latei met een rollaag in gele verblendsteen. Aan de onderzijde worden de vensters afgesloten door een hardstenen lekdorpel. Tegen de zuidgevel bevindt zich een éénlaags serre op rechthoekige plattegrond, afgesloten door een plat dak met balustrade. Tegen de westgevel bevindt zich een éénlaags aanbouw met rechthoekige plattegrond afgesloten door een plat dak en balustrade. Aan de oostzijde bevindt zich op de begane grond een driezijdige erker met plat dak en balustrade. De VOORGEVEL (oostgevel) bestaat uit een afgeschuinde hoek, een vensteras en een topgevel. In de afgeschuinde hoek bevindt zich op de begane grond een enkelruits schuifvenster, op de verdieping een deur met glasindeling en enkelruits bovenlicht. Het balkon met balustrade, wordt ondersteund door houten korbeelstellen. De balkondeur wordt aan de bovenzijde afgesloten door een segmentboog met uitgemetselde segmentboog. Hierboven bevindt zich het jaartal `1910' in hardsteen. De afgeschuinde hoek eindigt in een topgevel met in de geveltop een stolpraam met bovenlicht. Het overstekend zadeldak is voorzien van geprofileerde windveren. Op de begane grond in de vensteras links in de gevel bevinden zich twee gekoppelde schuifvensters onder één segmentboog van gele verblendsteen. Op de verdieping bevinden zich twee naast elkaar geplaatste enkelruits schuifvensters, elk afzonderlijk afgesloten door een segmentboogvormige rollaag in gele verblendsteen. De as eindigt in een bakgoot ondersteund door korbeelstellen. De rechtertravee eindigt in een topgevel met op de begane grond een driezijdige erker. Op de verdieping bevindt zich een dubbele balkondeur met glasindeling. Boven de balkondeur bevindt zich de naam `KLEIN WIARDA STATE' in een natuurstenen plaat omsloten door een gele verblendstenen rollaag. Aan weerszijden van het naamtableau bevindt zich een gele verblendstenen rondboog van elkaar gescheiden door het vakwerk in de geveltop. In de geveltop bevinden zich twee gekoppelde ramen afgesloten door een gele verblendstenen segmentboog. Het overstekend zadeldak is voorzien van een sierspant.
Centraal tegen de LINKERZIJGEVEL (zuidgevel) bevindt zich een éénlaags serre met plat dak en balustrade. De serre met bakstenen fundament is dichtgezet met enkelruits ramen met bovenlichten. Centraal bevindt zich een deur met glasindeling. Op de verdieping bevinden zich twee dubbele glasdeuren met bovenlicht. De gevel eindigt in een bakgoot op klossen.
Links tegen de ACHTERGEVEL (westgevel) bevindt zich een éénlaags aanbouw met plat dak en balustrade. In de aanbouw bevinden zich enkele kleine vensters met diefijzers. Het overig deel van de gevel is gepleisterd. Op de verdieping bevindt zich boven de aanbouw een dubbele balkondeur met glasindeling en bovenlicht. Op de begane grond bevindt zich links een deur met rechts een enkelruits schuifvenster aan weerszijden geflankeerd door persiennes. Rechts op de verdieping bevindt zich een T-venster aan weerszijden geflankeerd door persiennes.
In de RECHTERZIJGEVEL (noordgevel) bevindt zich de entree bestaande uit een rijk bewerkte paneeldeur met glasindeling en enkelruits bovenlicht. Boven de natuurstenen latei bevindt zich een gele verblendstenen segmentboog. De ingang wordt afgesloten door een hellende luifel ondersteund door korbelen. Boven de ingangspartij bevindt zich een klein toiletraam. Rechts van de entree bevindt zich in één as een klein raam met diefijzers op de begane grond en een glas-in-loodraam op de eerste en tweede verdieping. Uiterst rechts op de begane grond bevindt zich een enkelruits schuifvenster. De zijgevel van de aanbouw is een blinde gevel.
Het INTERIEUR is grotendeels in oorspronkelijke staat met tochtportaal, tochtdeuren met ge-etst glas, schoorsteenmantels, trappartij, oorspronkelijke keuken, stucplafonds en een terrazzovloer met de initialen van de opdrachtgever.
De entree tot de villa wordt ontsloten door een HEK bestaande uit een hardstenen geprofileerde inrijpilaar met smeedijzeren vleugel.

Description
VILLA 'Klein Wiarda State' with GATE with rectangular ground plan, consists of two storeys closed off by a composite roof with flat and generous overhang covered with half-round interlocking pantiles. On the flat roof there are a number of irregularly distributed chimney shafts. The roof is provided with an adopted gabled roof on the south-east corner, an adopted gabled roof on the east side and a half-hipped roof on the north side. The moulded roof gutter is supported by brackets or corbel sets. The facades with plastered stone frame are built of brown-red brick in English bond. In the facades there are various bands of yellow header brick. In the facades there are largely casement windows at the top closed off by a moulded stone lintel with a roll moulding in yellow header brick. At the bottom the windows are closed off by a stone drip course. Against the south facade there is a single-storey conservatory on a rectangular ground plan, closed off by a flat roof with balustrade. Against the west facade there is a single-storey extension with rectangular ground plan closed off by a flat roof and balustrade. On the east side on the ground floor there is a three-sided bay window with flat roof and balustrade. The FRONT FACADE (east facade) consists of a bevelled corner, a window range and a gabled top. In the bevelled corner there is on the ground floor a single-light sash window, on the upper floor a door with glazing and single-light fanlight. The balcony with balustrade is supported by wooden corbel sets. The balcony door is closed off at the top by a segmental arch with struck segmental arch. Above this is the date '1910' in stone. The bevelled corner ends in a gabled top with in the gable apex a fixed light window with fanlight. The overhanging gabled roof is provided with moulded wind braces. On the ground floor in the window range on the left in the facade there are two coupled sash windows under one segmental arch of yellow header brick. On the upper floor there are two single-light sash windows placed next to each other, each individually closed off by a segmental arch-shaped roll moulding in yellow header brick. The axis ends in a roof gutter supported by corbel sets. The right bay ends in a gabled top with on the ground floor a three-sided bay window. On the upper floor there is a double balcony door with glazing. Above the balcony door is the name 'KLEIN WIARDA STATE' in a stone plaque enclosed by a yellow header brick roll moulding. On either side of the name plate there is a yellow header brick round arch separated from each other by the timberwork in the gable top. In the gable top there are two coupled windows closed off by a yellow header brick segmental arch. The overhanging gabled roof is provided with an ornamental tie-beam.
Centrally against the LEFT SIDE FACADE (south facade) there is a single-storey conservatory with flat roof and balustrade. The conservatory with brick foundation is fitted with single-light windows with fanlights. Centrally there is a door with glazing. On the upper floor there are two double glazed doors with fanlight. The facade ends in a roof gutter on brackets.
On the left against the REAR FACADE (west facade) there is a single-storey extension with flat roof and balustrade. In the extension there are several small windows with security bars. The remainder of the facade is plastered. On the upper floor above the extension there is a double balcony door with glazing and fanlight. On the ground floor on the left there is a door with on the right a single-light sash window flanked on either side by shutters. On the right on the upper floor there is a T-shaped window flanked on either side by shutters.
In the RIGHT SIDE FACADE (north facade) there is the entrance consisting of a richly ornamented panelled door with glazing and single-light fanlight. Above the stone lintel there is a yellow header brick segmental arch. The entrance is closed off by a sloping canopy supported by corbels. Above the entrance section there is a small toilet window. To the right of the entrance there is in a single axis a small window with security bars on the ground floor and a leaded glass window on the first and second storeys. At the far right on the ground floor there is a single-light sash window. The side facade of the extension is a blank facade.
The INTERIOR is largely in its original state with draught vestibule, draught doors with etched glass, fireplace mantels, staircase, original kitchen, stucco ceilings and a terrazzo floor with the initials of the client.
The entrance to the villa is accessed by a GATE consisting of a moulded stone entrance pier with wrought iron wing.
