Inleiding
VILLA `Ruimzicht' gebouwd in 1917 naar ontwerp van de architect J.A. HEUVELINK (1879-1949) uit Apeldoorn gebouwd in opdracht van mevrouw G.A. Brands Meijs in een heroriëntatie op traditionele bouwwijzen met invloeden vanuit de Um 1800-stijl. De villa bevindt zich aan de oostzijde van de Rijksstraatweg binnen de bebouwde kom van Voorst in de gemeente Voorst.
Omschrijving
VILLA `Ruimzicht' met rechthoekig grondplan bestaat uit twee bouwlagen afgesloten door een afgeplat schilddak met royaal overstek gedekt met gesmoorde Tuiles du Nord. Op de hoeken van het plat bevindt zich een bakstenen schoorsteenschacht met een halfronde natuurstenen kap. De gevels met trasraam en rollaag zijn opgetrokken in bruinrode baksteen in kruisverband met aan de bovenzijde een decoratief, getrapt, bakstenen fries onder de geprofileerde bakgoot met klossen. In de gevels bevinden zich vensters bestaande uit onderramen aan weerszijden geflankeerd door luiken met glas-in-lood bovenlichten. Aan de bovenzijde worden de vensters afgesloten door een geprofileerde, hardstenen latei, aan de onderzijde door een hardstenen lekdorpel. Tegen de rechterzijgevel bevindt zich een éénlaags serre op rechthoekige plattegrond afgesloten door een plat dak met balustrade. Tegen de achtergevel bevindt zich een éénlaags aanbouw met rechthoekige plattegrond afgesloten door een plat dak en balustrade. De symmetrische VOORGEVEL (westgevel) bestaat uit drie traveeën en de terug gelegen zijgevel van de serre. In de risalerende middentravee bevindt zich de ingangspartij met halfronde stoep bestaande uit twee treden en een bordes. De houten deur wordt door een kalf gescheiden van het halfronde bovenlicht met glas-in-loodraam. Aan weerszijden van de deur bevindt zich een getarpte dagkant. Het bovenlicht wordt afgesloten door een gestucte rondboog. Links en rechts van de entree wordt de risaliet benadrukt door een pilaster met ionisch kapiteel. Boven het kapiteel bevindt zich aan weerszijden een driehoekige natuurstenen console ter ondersteuning van het natuurstenen balkon met balustrade op de verdieping. Op de verdieping bevindt zich een dubbele deur met glasindeling aan weerszijden geflankeerd door luiken met tien-ruits bovenlicht. Boven de balkondeuren bevindt zich een horizontaal natuurstenen veld met daarin de tekst `19 RUIMZICHT 17', uiterst links en rechts geflamkeerd door een decoratieve, vierkante natuursteen. De risaliet eindigt in een segmentboogvormige gevel met schouderstukken met achterliggend aangekapt zadeldak. In de geveltop bevindt zich een stolpraam met halfrond, meerruits bovenlicht. Aan weerszijden van de rislaiet bevindt zich een uitgemetseld geveldeel met op de begane grond een smal enkelruits onderraam met halfrond bovenlicht afgesloten door een gepleisterde rondboog. Op de verdieping bevindt zich een smal enkelruits raam met zes-ruits bovenlicht. In de linkertravee bevindt zich op de begane grond een venster met enkelruits onderraam en glas-in-lood bovenlicht. Op de verdieping bevindt zich een schuifraam met zestien-ruits bovenlicht. De rechtertravee is identiek aan de linkertravee. In de zijgevel van de serre bevinden zich twee gekoppelde enkelruits ramen met glas-in-lood bovenlicht. De LINKERZIJGEVEL (noordgevel) bestaat uit een linker- en een rechtertravee identiek aan die in de voorgevel. Op de verdieping bevindt zich op de scheiding van de traveeën een smal enkelruits raam met glas-in-lood bovenlicht.
De ACHTERGEVEL (oostgevel) bestaat uit drie traveeën. De linkertravee is identiek aan die in de voorgevel met een smaller venster op de verdieping met twaalf-ruits bovenlicht. In de middentravee bevindt zich op de begane grond een paneeldeur met links twee en rechts één klein venster. Op de verdieping bevinden zich drie enkelrutis onderramen met glas-in-lood bovenlichten. Rechts op de begane grond bevindt zich een aanbouw met een schuifraam aan weerszijden geflankeerd door luiken. Op de verdieping bevindt zich een dubbele deur met glasindeling met meerruits bovenlicht.
Uiterst links in de RECHTERZIJGEVEL (zuidgevel) bevindt zich venster met aan één zijde een luik. Rechts van het venster bevindt zich de serre met bakstenen fundament en uitgemetselde hoekpijlers. Centraal in de gevel van de serre bevindt zich een dubbele deur met glasindeling en glas-in-lood bovenlicht. De deur wordt aan weerszijden geflankeerd door een enkelruits raam met glas-in-lood bovenlicht. Op de verdieping bevinden zich twee dubbele schuifdeuren met twaalf-ruits bovenlicht.
Het INTERIEUR is grotendeels in oorspronkelijke staat met schoorsteenmantels, voormname trappartij, oorspronkelijke keuken, marmeren, parket en terrazzovloeren.

VILLA 'Ruimzicht' with a rectangular ground plan consists of two storeys closed off by a clipped hipped roof with generous eaves covered with cut Tuiles du Nord. At the corners of the flat roof is a brick chimney shaft with a semi-circular natural stone cap. The facades with travertine and roll course are constructed in red-brown brick in Flemish bond with at the top a decorative, stepped, brick frieze under the moulded brick gutter with brackets. In the facades are windows consisting of lower sashes flanked on both sides by shutters with leaded glass fanlights. At the top the windows are closed off by a moulded stone lintel, at the bottom by a stone dripstone sill. Against the right side facade is a single-storey conservatory on rectangular plan closed off by a flat roof with balustrade. Against the rear facade is a single-storey extension with rectangular plan closed off by a flat roof and balustrade. The symmetrical FRONT FACADE (west facade) consists of three bays and the recessed side facade of the conservatory. In the projecting central bay is the entrance arrangement with semi-circular porch consisting of two steps and a landing. The wooden door is separated by a calf from the semi-circular fanlight with leaded glass window. On both sides of the door is a tarred door jamb. The fanlight is closed off by a stuccoed round arch. Left and right of the entrance the projection is emphasized by a pilaster with Ionic capital. Above the capital is on both sides a triangular natural stone console to support the natural stone balcony with balustrade on the first floor. On the first floor is a double door with glazing on both sides flanked by shutters with ten-pane fanlight. Above the balcony doors is a horizontal natural stone field with the text '19 RUIMZICHT 17', flanked at far left and right by a decorative, square natural stone.
