Waardering

Valuation

The Sint Barbara church is of cultural-historical value as a remarkable expression of a spiritual and a typological development in the architecture of Roman Catholic church buildings in the second half of the 19th century.

The church possesses architectural-historical value because of its particular significance for the history of architecture, for the oeuvre of the architect Jac. van Groenendael jr. because of the aesthetic qualities of the design and the interior. The church possesses an urban planning function because of the particular significance of the object for the appearance of the village of Griendtsveen, in particular as the core of the religious ensemble on the Helenaveenseweg. The church is finally of general importance on the grounds of the architectural integrity of the exterior and the cultural and architectural-historical rarity.
