Inleiding
Vrijstaande VILLA met aangebouwd BEDRIJFSGEBOUW gelegen in het centrum van Aalten. De villa is gebouwd in 1935 door de architect HEBLY uit Aalten. De opdrachtgever was J.C. Ackerman uit Aalten. Het gebouw vertoont invloeden van het Baksteen Expressionisme zoals de toepassing van het noors metselverband en de diepliggende voegen. Daarnaast zijn er ook eigentijdse invloeden zoals de steile dakhellingen en de overstekende dakgoten.
Het aan de villa aangebouwde bedrijfsgebouw werd vroeger gebruikt voor de opslag van chocolade- en suikerwaren. De villa is nog steeds in gebruik als woning. Het bedrijfsgebouw wordt tegenwoordig door de bewoners van de villa gebruikt als opslagruimte voor de produkten van hun bedrijf.
Omschrijving
De in noors verband gemetselde, bakstenen VILLA is opgetrokken op een nagenoeg rechthoekig plattegrond onder een vrij steil zadeldak waarbij het rechter dakschild iets hoger ligt dan het linker dakschild. Het dak is bedekt met de rode verbeterde Hollandse pan en watert af via houten bakgoten. Het rechter dakschild heeft een dakkapel met twee gekoppelde enkelruits ramen onder een plat dak. Het linker dakschild heeft twee schoorstenen, een dakkapel met drie gekoppelde vensters onder een plat dak en in het midden een aangekapt zadeldak, bedekt met de rode verbeterde Hollandse pan, waaronder zich een Vlaamse gevel bevindt. Ook dit dak heeft aan voorzijde een overstek en watert af via houten bakgoten.
Voor de eveneens in noors verband gemetselde plint is een donker gekleurde baksteen gebruikt. Het gebouw heeft aan voorzijde een erker onder een zadeldak en in de linkerzijgevel een Vlaamse gevel ter plaatse waarvan zich het trappenhuis bevindt.
De VOORGEVEL heeft op de begane grond links een erker onder een vrij steil zadeldak met aan voorzijde een overstek. De afwatering geschiedt via houten bakgoten. Het voorvlak bevat een samengesteld raam bestaande uit een enkelruits raam met bovenlicht en aan weerszijden een draairaam met bovenlicht. Zowel de draairamen als de bovenlichten hebben glas in lood. De topgevel heeft een houten beschot. De zijvlakken hebben een glas in lood draairaam met een glas in lood bovenlicht (klapraam). Rechts in de voorgevel bevindt zich een zelfde samengesteld raam als in het voorvlak van de serre. De verdieping heeft rechts twee gekoppelde stolpramen met enkelruits bovenlicht. Links in de gevel bevinden zich twee kleine enkelruits draairamen. In de top bevindt zich een enkelruits stolpraam.
De LINKER ZIJGEVEL bevat rechts op de begane grond de ingangspartij en links een Vlaamse gevel met beschoten top onder zadeldak, ter plaatse waarvan zich het trappenhuis bevindt.
De ingangspartij bestaat uit een inpandige portiek gesitueerd op de hoek van de voorgevel met de linker zijgevel. In beide vlakken zit een half cirkelvormig afgesloten doorgang voorzien van een rollaag. In de doorgang in het voorvlak bevindt zich een lage muur met een bloembak. Links van de entree bevindt zich een smal staand raam. Ter plaatse van het trappenhuisbevindt zich op de beganegrond een kelderraampje met erboven, ter hoogte van de tussenverdieping, een klein raam en op de verdieping een smal tweeruits raam.
De ACHTERGEVEL heeft op de begane grond een vierruits stolpdeur (ladderdeur) en een enkelruits stolpraam. De verdieping heeft rechts een klein balkon voorzien van een bakstenen borstwering afgedekt met rode gevelpannen. Het balkon is toegankelijk via een vierruits ladderdeur. De gevel heeft links twee gekoppelde enkelruits stolpramen met enkelruits bovenlicht. In de top bevindt zich een enkelruits stolpraam.
De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL heeft op de begane grond in het midden een enkelruits draairaam met glas in lood bovenlicht en rechts in de gevel een samengesteld raam bestaande uit een enkelruits raam waarbij het zijlicht en het bovenlicht voorzien zijn van glas in lood.
Het INTERIEUR is vrij gaaf bewaard gebleven en bevat onder meer in de voorkamer een bakstenen schouw aan bovenzijde afgedekt met zwarte tegels, een parketvloer, schuifdeuren voorzien van glas in lood tussen woon- en eetkamer en een doorlopende houten band langs de wanden ter hoogte van de onderkant en de bovenkant van de ramen. De indeling op de begane grond en op de verdieping is oorspronkelijk.
De villa heeft aan voorzijde een TUIN met een toegangshekje bestaande uit twee vierkante, lage bakstenen zuilen aan weerszijden van twee bakstenen treden en een één steens hoge kwart cirkelvormig muurtje.
De gevels van het BEDRIJFSGEBOUW zijn opgetrokken in baksteen, gemetseld in noorsverband en worden aan bovenzijde afgesloten door vorsttegels.
De VOORGEVEL van het BEDRIJFSGEBOUW heeft links een rondboogvormige deur en rechts een niet oorspronkelijk venster met drie gekoppelde ramen. De LINKERZIJGEVEL heeft twee grote zesruits ramen.
De ACHTERGEVEL heeft in het midden een deur met aan weerszijden twee gekoppelde draairamen.

The REAR FACADE has on the ground floor a four-pane sash door (ladder door) and a single-pane sash window. The first floor has on the right a small balcony provided with a brick parapet finished with red roof tiles. The balcony is accessible via a four-pane ladder door. The facade has on the left two coupled single-pane sash windows with single-pane fanlight. At the top is a single-pane sash window.
The RIGHT SIDE FACADE has on the ground floor in the middle a single-pane casement window with leaded glass fanlight and on the right of the facade a composite window consisting of a single-pane window where the side light and fanlight are provided with leaded glass.
The INTERIOR has been fairly well preserved and contains among other things in the front room a brick fireplace finished at the top with black tiles, a parquet floor, sliding doors provided with leaded glass between living and dining room and a continuous wooden band along the walls at the level of the bottom and top of the windows. The layout on the ground floor and on the first floor is original.
The villa has at the front a GARDEN with an access gate consisting of two square, low brick pillars on either side of two brick steps and a one-brick-thick quarter-circular wall.
The facades of the INDUSTRIAL BUILDING are built in brickwork, laid in English bond and are finished at the top with frost tiles.
The FRONT FACADE of the INDUSTRIAL BUILDING has on the left a round-arched door and on the right a non-original window with three coupled panes. The LEFT SIDE FACADE has two large six-pane windows.
