Inleiding
Deze monumentale T-BOERDERIJ, genaamd 'DE LAKENBURG' werd gebouwd in het derde kwart van de negentiende eeuw. De boerderij is markant gelegen op een verhoging aan de kruising Brouwersstraat-Trambaan. De voorgevel is gericht naar de Trambaan.
De boerderij heeft een tegen de rechterzijgevel van de schuur gebouwd zomerhuis.
Omschrijving
De boerderij is gebouwd op een T-vormig grondplan. Het dwarsgeplaatste voorhuis is met de voorgevel gericht naar de Trambaan en met de rechterzijgevel gericht naar de Brouwersstraat.
Het voorhuis telt twee bouwlagen onder een met leien bekleed schilddak met zinken nok en hoekkepers. Op de nok staan twee gemetselde schoorstenen. Onder het rechtergedeelte van het voorhuis bevindt zich een twee traveeën brede en diepe kelder met kruisgewelven met geprofileerde graten.
De schuur telt één bouwlaag onder een met riet gedekt wolfdak met gesmoorde nokvorsten.
De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen. Het metselwerk is uitgevoerd in kruisverband. Rondom het voorhuis loopt een gepleisterde plint. Langs de voorgevel uitgevoerd als een vooruitspringende, gepleisterde plint met casementen en een afsluitende waterlijst. De rechterzijgevel van de schuur is gepleisterd en witgeschilderd. Langs de achtergevel loopt eveneens een gepleisterde plint.
De VOORGEVEL is asymmetrisch ingedeeld en zeven vensterassen breed. In de derde vensteras van rechts bevindt zich een brede paneeldeur met gesmede roosters in Jugendstilmotief en sierlijk bovenlicht in een inpandig, betegelde portiek met korfboogvormige, geprofileerde stucomlijsting met groene verglaasde steen en een bekronend kuifstuk; ervoor ligt een hardstenen stoep. Rechts van de entree zijn twee en links van de deur vier zesruits schuifvensters geplaatst. Op de verdieping bevinden zich zeven dubbele tweeruits draairamen. Alle vensters zijn geplaatst onder een strek en hebben een hardstenen lekdorpel. Onder de omgaande bakgoot met een geprofileerde lijst op gesneden klossen is een uitkragende muizetand daklijst aangebracht. De onderhelft van het gevelvlak is begroeid met klimop. De LINKERZIJGEVEL van het voorhuis bevat op de begane grond twee zesruits schuifvenster, en op de verdieping twee dubbele tweeruits draairamen. Het gevelvlak wordt evenals de voorgevel beëindigd met een overstekende geprofileerde lijst op gesneden klossen waaronder een uitkragende muizetand.
De linkerzijgevel van de schuur bevat halfcirkelvormige ijzeren stalramen met vorktracering.
De ACHTERGEVEL van de schuur is traditioneel ingedeeld (middenlangsdeeltype). Centraal op de begane grond bevinden zich de segmentboogvormige baanderdeuren. Ter weerszijden een halfcirkelvormig ijzeren stalraam met vorktracering en een opgeklampte mestdeur onder een rollaag. Boven de schuifdeuren bevindt zich een getoogd, opgeklampt hooiluik. Het metselwerk langs de dakrand vertoont vlechtingen.
De RECHTERZIJGEVEL van het voorhuis is identiek aan de linkerzijgevel. In de gepleisterde plint zijn twee kelderlichten met diefijzers aangebracht. Tegen de rechterzijgevel van de schuur is het zomerhuis geplaatst.
Tegen de rechterzijgevel van de schuur bevindt zich een gepleisterd en witgeschilderd ZOMERHUIS, dat één bouwlaag telt onder een met gesmoorde oud-Hollandse pannen gedekt schilddak. De topgevel is gericht naar de Brouwersstraat en bevat twee 4-ruits schuifvensters en een vierpas oculus. Langs de dakrand loopt een gesneden windveer met makelaar.

Description
The farmhouse is built on a T-shaped ground plan. The transversely positioned front wing has its front facade facing the Trambaan and its right side gable facing the Brouwersstraat.
The front wing comprises two storeys under a hipped roof clad with slate with zinc ridge and hip rafters. On the ridge stand two brick chimneys. Beneath the right section of the front wing is a cellar two bays wide and deep with cross vaults with moulded ribs.
The barn comprises one storey under a half-hipped roof thatched with reed with hipped ridge members.
The gables are constructed in brick. The brickwork is executed in Flemish bond. A plastered plinth runs around the front wing. Along the front facade executed as a projecting, plastered plinth with casements and a terminating drip moulding. The right side gable of the barn is plastered and whitewashed. Along the rear gable a plastered plinth also runs.
The FRONT FACADE is asymmetrically arranged and seven window bays wide. In the third window bay from the right there is a broad panelled door with wrought iron grilles in Art Nouveau motif and elegant fanlight in an interior tiled porch with basket arch shaped, moulded stucco surround with green glazed stone and a crowning plume piece; in front of it lies a hardstone stoep. To the right of the entrance are two and to the left of the door four six-pane sash windows. On the first floor are seven double two-pane casement windows. All windows are placed under a string course and have a hardstone drip moulding. Below the surrounding rain gutter with a moulded list on carved corbels an overhanging mouse tooth cornice is fitted. The lower half of the facade is overgrown with climbing ivy. The LEFT SIDE GABLE of the front wing contains on the ground floor two six-pane sash windows, and on the first floor two double two-pane casement windows. The facade surface is terminated, like the front facade, with an overhanging moulded list on carved corbels beneath which an overhanging mouse tooth moulding.
The left side gable of the barn contains semicircular iron stable windows with fork tracery.
The REAR GABLE of the barn is traditionally arranged (central longitudinal division type). Centrally on the ground floor are the segmental arch shaped barn doors. On either side a semicircular iron stable window with fork tracery and a clamped dung door under a roller course. Above the sliding doors is an arched, clamped hay window. The brickwork along the roof edge shows interlacing.
The RIGHT SIDE GABLE of the front wing is identical to the left side gable. In the plastered plinth two cellar lights with anti-theft bars are fitted. Against the right side gable of the barn is situated the summer house.
Against the right side gable of the barn is situated a plastered and whitewashed SUMMER HOUSE, which comprises one storey under a hipped roof clad with hipped oudhollandse tiles. The gable end faces the Brouwersstraat and contains two 4-pane sash windows and a quatrefoil oculus. Along the roof edge runs a carved wind brace with makalaar.
