Inleiding
TUINHUIS (broeikas), behorende tot het complex "Middlesex", gebouwd in 1921 in expressionistische bouwtrant, door J. London. De broeikas staat aan de zuidoostzijde van het atelier, verbonden door middel van een tuinmuur met de aanbouw aan de zuidoosthoek van het atelier.
Omschrijving
De lage broeikas is opgetrokken op een T-vormige plattegrond in rode baksteen met rollaag ter hoogte van de plint. Het asymmetrische zadeldak op klossen van sierbeton heeft de noklijn oost-west gericht en is bedekt met rode verbeterde Hollandse pannen. De schoorsteen staat op de dakrand aan de oostzijde van het zuidelijke dakschild. De vensters zijn van hout.
De noordgevel bevat links een open ruimte onder overstek, geflankeerd door muurtjes, het oostelijke muurtje is onderdeel van de tuinmuur tussen broeikas en aanbouw atelier. Rechts doorbreekt een dakkapel met groot venster de daklijst.
De oostgevel bevat een uitstekend venster in sierbetonomlijsting en een venster in de top. De zuidgevel bevat rechts een aanbouw onder overstek met twee vensteropeningen, links drie smalle openingen.
De westgevel bevat de getoogde opgeklampte deur in rondboog, geflankeerd door kleine steunberen en kleine openingen. In de top een rond venster.

GARDEN HOUSE (hothouse), belonging to the complex "Middlesex", built in 1921 in expressionistic architectural style, by J. London. The hothouse stands on the south-east side of the studio, connected by means of a garden wall to the extension at the south-east corner of the studio.
Description
The low hothouse is constructed on a T-shaped plan in red brick with a roll course at the level of the plinth. The asymmetrical gabled roof on corbels of ornamental concrete has the ridge line oriented east-west and is covered with red improved Dutch tiles. The chimney stands on the roof edge on the east side of the southern roof slope. The windows are of wood.
The north facade contains on the left an open space under eaves, flanked by small walls, the eastern small wall is part of the garden wall between hothouse and extension of studio. On the right a roof dormer with large window breaks through the roof line.
The east facade contains a projecting window in ornamental concrete casing and a window in the apex. The south facade contains on the right an extension under eaves with two window openings, on the left three narrow openings.
